The present invention relates to methods and devices that allow for efficient transportation of traffic in conjunction with a home base station (1). Traffic arriving in the home base station from a mobile terminal (2) connected to the home base station can be transported by means of local breakout transportation, which implies that the traffic is forwarded to a local node (4) over a local network (20) or to the Internet (21) without passing a core network (15) of a mobile telecommunications system. A local breakout bearer (22) is established, which is a radio bearer that extends between the mobile terminal and the home base station. The mobile terminal forwards uplink traffic that is to be subject to local breakout transportation to the home base station on the local breakout bearer. Thus it is not required for traffic that is destined for local nodes or the Internet to pass the core network, which allows for efficient traffic forwarding.

The present invention relates to methods and arrangements for introducing an automatic one-time configuration ;of the DNS server(s) when a base station gateway, such as an HeNB GW, is deployed, such that the FQDN-to-HeNB GW IP address translation data is proactively configured. This is performed to identify the base station gateway address to which subsequently deployed base stations will be connected. That is, the FQDN-to-HeNB GW IP address translation data for the HeNB IDs of all the HeNBs that may potentially connect to the HeNB GW is proactively configured in the DNS server(s), thereby avoiding frequent and constantly ongoing DNS configuration during normal network operation. This configuration of the DNS allows the eNB to obtain the destination address for an X2 connection without knowing about an eventual HeNB GW, nor the addressing details, such as size/length (or fixed number of bits) of the HeNB GW ID.

The problem of the ineffective conventional load balancing procedure when used in a network with HeNB GWs, is addressed by a solution where the HeNB includes (510) an explicit indication of the reason for radio link establishment (load balancing establishment cause) in the S1AP INITIAL UE MESSAGE message (511) used to establish the S1 signaling connection associated with a user equipment to an MME, so that the HeNB GW (550) can perform an accurate MME selection based on the knowledge that the establishment is due to load balancing, i.e. an MME selection that realizes the required inter-MME load balancing.
