摘要： A method for directly writing data into an optic disk is performed by an optic disk drive incorporating a control unit to which an external data storage device, such as compact flash memory device, is connected. The method includes steps of (1) initiating a writing operation, (2) setting the optic disk drive to busy condition, (3) checking if an optic disk is properly loaded and if the external memory device is correctly connected, (4) issuing a warning, if they are not properly loaded or connected, (5) checking if the optic disk is a UDF disk, (6) issuing a warning, if it is not, (7) creating a folder in the optic disk, (8) retrieving data from the external data storage device and writing the data into the folder of the optic disk, and (9) ending the writing operation. No computer-based interface is required between the optic disk drive and the external data storage device in performing the data writing operation.

摘要： A multimedia access device, a multimedia playing system comprising the multimedia access device, and a multimedia data playing method are provided. The multimedia playing system comprises a portal web server, an interface, a multimedia access device, and a multimedia playing apparatus. The portal web server provides a file allocation table (FAT) comprising at least one file folder, each having at least one file. Each file is adapted to contain and correspond to at least one Internet data stream. The multimedia access device connects to the portal web server via the interface, selects one file from the FAT according to a selection signal, and converts the Internet data stream corresponding to this file into a USB data stream after receiving the Internet data stream via the interface.

摘要： A method for formatting an optic disk by an optic disk drive is disclosed. The optic disk drive includes a control unit having operation keys. The method includes the steps of (a) initiating a formatting operation; (b) setting the optic disk drive to a busy condition; (c) checking if the optic disk is a blank CD-RW disk and going to step (g) if the optic disk is a blank CD-RW disk otherwise going to step (d); (d) checking if the optic disk is a UDF disk and issuing a warning and ending the operation if the optic disk is not a UDF disk otherwise going to step (e); (e) performing a quick formatting operation and writing label in UDF file system of the formatted optic disk; (f) Ending the formatting operation; (g) performing a complete formatting operation and writing label in the UDF file system of the formatted optic disk; and (h) ending the formatting operation. No computer is needed in performing the optic disk formatting operation.
