摘要： In a server composed of a server module having a processor in it, an I/O module having an I/O extension slot for accommodating an I/O extension adapter to expand the server's I/O capability, and a management module managing the entire server, the server module and the I/O extension slot (and through it, ultimately the I/O extension adapter) are interconnected using a PCI Express interface and the I/O module and the management module are interconnected using a special interface carrying detection information indicating whether an I/O extension adapter is actually mounted on the I/O extension slot. In the event of a link failure on the PCI Express interface, link recovery is attempted by grasping the status of the link based on the detection information obtained through the special interface.

摘要： To provide a blade server capable of expanding disks of any servers in one chassis, the blade server has one or more server modules, one or more storage modules, a management module for managing the whole of the server, and a back plane via which a signal is transmitted among the modules wherein the server modules, the storage modules, and the management module are installed in slots. The server modules and the storage modules are interconnected via a disk interface on the back plane. Each of the server modules and the storage modules has a module management unit that controls a power in the its own module, and the module management unit controls the power in the its own module according to a power control signal sent from the management module.

摘要： In a machine tool of the present invention, a spindle head rotatably supports a vertical tool spindle. On the spindle head base, a guide mechanism is provided so as to guide the spindle head in mutually orthogonal first and second horizontal directions and in a vertical direction. A workpiece is supported on a workpiece supporting base provided at a front side of the spindle head base. The workpiece is surrounded with a side cover assembly on the workpiece support base so as to define a machining area therewithin. The upper end of the side cover assembly is covered with a top cover assembly. The top cover assembly has a spindle hole through which a nose portion of the spindle head passes so as to permit the tool spindle to reach the machining area, and is flexibly operable to follow the movements of the spindle head in the first and second horizontal directions.

摘要： In a multiple spindle processing unit which can change processing locations of a work in accordance with a modification made to the work, the present invention is intended to facilitate changes of design corresponding to the modification made to the work and reduce the number of parts to be replaced. In a frame member which is guided and supported so as to be moved towards and away from a work, insertion holes are formed at a plurality of locations corresponding to processing locations of the work. In each of a plurality of tool main spindle assemblies, a main spindle having a front end portion where a chuck for mounting a tool is provided is coaxially journaled in a housing in the shape of a circular cylinder or a polygonal cylinder and is rotationally driven by a built-in motor. Each of the tool main spindle assemblies is mounted to the frame member with the housing inserted through the insertion hole. The tool main spindle assembly may be mounted to the frame member through a holding plate which is divided into a plurality of portions for securely sandwiching the housing or through a flange which is integrated with the housing and which protrudes radially.

摘要： A transfer apparatus which is designed to transfer workpieces at different pitches by a plurality of transfer bars. The apparatus has a horizontal guide provided on a frame which supports first and second transfer bars in such a manner that these transfer bars are movable axially in the horizontal direction, and at least one slider block is slidably guided in parallel to the transfer bars through the guide. This slider block is provided with a driving motor and further provided with a mechanism which is arranged to allow the slider block to slide along the guide by the rotational force derived from the motor. An arm which is pivoted by the rotational force from the motor is pivotally supported on the slider block. Further, a first and second transmission are provided for transmitting the movements of the slider block and the arm to the first and second transfer bars, respectively. According to this arrangement, the first transfer bar, together with the slider block, is moved axially in the horizontal direction, and the second transfer bar is moved axially in the horizontal direction more than the slider block by an amount corresponding to the amount of pivotal movement of the arm. Thus, the first and second transfer bars can be moved at different strokes.
