    摘要: A contents managing method of regulating a number of copied contents storable on a storage medium includes giving a predetermined number of copyable contents for each content, recording the copied contents on the storage medium upon reception of an instruction for copy recording on the storage medium when there is a remainder in the number of copyable contents, decrementing the number of copyable contents by “1” every time one copied content is recorded on the storage medium at a time of recording, and incrementing the number of copyable contents by “1” every time one copied content is erased from the storage medium upon reception of an instruction to erase the copied contents from the storage medium.

    摘要: An apparatus generates first shared information that is shared by the apparatus and a recording medium by performing a first bilateral authentication. The apparatus encrypts overwrite data that is used to erase key information item recorded in the recording medium using the first shared information. Encrypted overwrite data is transferred to the recording medium. Second shared information is generated and shared by the apparatus and the recording medium by performing a second bilateral authentication between them. The apparatus receives data that is encrypted using the second shared information and that has been used by the recording medium for erasing key information. Encrypted data is decrypted using second shared information item and key information recorded in the recording medium is erased when the decrypted data is identical to overwrite data.

    摘要: In a system for transferring an analog video signal which contains command information and the like in vertical blanking interval VBI between master and slave devices via an analog line, information (bits 1 to 20) having a word configuration (words 0 to 2+CRCC) consisting of a predetermined number of bits (variable within the range from 5 bits to 80 bits) is superposed in a predetermined period (49.1 &mgr;s) of a predetermined VBI line (line number 10) at a predetermined clock (fsc/32 to fsc/2). In this manner, device which are interconnected via an analog video signal line can transfer information having various contents/lengths that can be changed in correspondence with a partner connected using vertical blanking interval VBI.

    摘要: In an information management method according to an embodiment of the invention, one or more freely installable memory cards are used. A suitable information management can be made even if a part or all of the memory cards is/are optionally attached or detached. Digital AV information of which recording may be distributed over the one or more memory cards is managed according to a prescribed format (which is common to all of the memory cards). Identification information for identifying the card is recorded on each of the memory cards. Allocation information (FAT) indicating where is allocated a portion of the digital AV information is also recorded on each of the memory cards. The allocation information of each of the memory cards identified by the identification information is acquired, and the acquired allocation information is integrated. The acquisition and integration are performed each time the memory card is attached or detached.
