摘要: An auto-focus (AF) camera enables AF operation with high speed and enhanced accuracy. The AF operation encompasses step-scanning the focus lens of the camera from the closest focal position to infinity, or vice versa. In one embodiment, the steps in the step-scanning are made smaller around a position judged to be close to the focus position, and the steps are made larger at other positions.

摘要: Provided is an oil separator built-in compressor, which prevents a drop in the separating ability of an oil separator while reducing a pressure loss in a communication hole formed between a discharge chamber and an oil separation chamber and which also considers the working feasibility of a casing. The oil separator built-in compressor comprises: a separation chamber arranged adjacent to the discharge chamber and formed entirely thereof into a space in order to separate an oil-containing gas being introduced, centrifugally into gas and oil so that the separated oil flows downward whereas the separated gas is released upward; and the communication hole formed between the discharge chamber and the separation chamber in order to introduce the oil-containing gas from the discharge chamber into the separation chamber. The oil separator built-in compressor is characterized in that the oil separator is formed of the joint structure of two members for constituting the compressor, and in that a portion of the inner wall face of the communication hole is formed at a position farther from the joining face of the joint structure than the inner wall face of the separation chamber.

摘要: A method for focus adjusting through which a subject image formed with a photographic optical system is captured by an image-capturing device and a focus match position for the photographic optical system is calculated based upon focus evaluation values calculated by using image-capturing signals includes steps for: obtaining focus evaluation values over first sampling increments in a focus adjustment range of the photographic optical system; making a decision as to whether or not a sampling position corresponding to a largest value among the focus evaluation values obtained over the first sampling increments is substantially at an end point of the focus adjustment range; obtaining focus adjustment values over second sampling increments smaller than the first sampling increments in a range that contains the end point and is smaller than the focus adjustment range if the sampling position corresponding to the largest value among the focus evaluation values is at the end point of the focus adjustment range; and calculating the focus match position based upon the focus evaluation values obtained over the second sampling increments.

摘要: A camera with a sight line detecting apparatus is designed such that if watching point information storing means for watching point information is in a saturated state when new watching point information is found, watching point information low in reliability will be preferentially deleted and the new watching point information will be renewed and recorded with a watching time and lapse time being taken into account. Also, to improve reliability, different weighting may be performed on the watching point information depending upon an elapsed time from the time of initially determining the watching point information.
