摘要: In a complex machining machine tool, a tool rest capable of attachably and detachably installing tool installing inserts thereon is provided, a plural number of virtual tools is set and registered concerning a predetermined at least one tool together with its indexing positional data in tool file, the tool data of the corresponding virtual tool is read out from the tool file on the basis of the machining instruction by the virtual tool stored in machining program, and the corresponding virtual tool is indexed on the tool rest on the basis of the indexing positional data, and then machining with the virtual tool is executed. At the time of machining, it is possible to continue machining with the same tool by only positional indexing without changing the tool. The work for changing tools can be extremely decreased even if machining contents are changed or it is necessary to change tools by tool exhaustion.

摘要: A complex machining machine tool is capable of executing a plurality of kinds of machining operations on a workpiece by selectively indexing and using an insert installed on a complex tool. The complex tool is registered in a tool data file as a plurality of virtual tools capable of executing corresponding machining operations. The virtual tools include a turning tool and a milling tool. In the tool data, the angle in a B-axis direction at which the tool is positioned when the virtual tool is used is stored as a B-axis angle for each virtual tool. The tool data of the corresponding virtual tool is read out from the tool file on the basis of the programmed machining instructions, and the B-axis angle is set on the basis of the tool data so as to execute machining.

摘要: A complex tool has a main body and a turning tool provided at an outer periphery portion of the main body. The turning tool is capable of machining on a rotating workpiece without rotating itself. An insert installed on the turning tool has a top end which contacts a workpiece by projecting a predetermined amount outside the main body's outer peripheral face. It also projects a predetermined amount from a top end portion of the main body in a direction of an axial center of the tool. The complex tool also has a rotating tool for machining by rotating itself. The rotating tool accomplishes machining corresponding to an axial center of the main body.

摘要: A method of machining a workpiece uses a complex tool having a number of inserts. The tool is installed on a tool holder of a machine tool and used for a turning machining operation on a workpiece, including rotating the workpiece, and selectively using one or more of the inserts on the complex tool, with the complex tool being fixed and held. A milling machining operation is performed on a workpiece using one or more of the inserts, with the complex tool being rotated and driven. Both turning machining and milling machining operations can be performed without changing tools. Extremely efficient machining is possible.

摘要: A machine tool capable of performing screw-machining on a rotating workpiece has a tool rest which can attachably and detachably equip a turning tool with an insert on its tip and is provided so as to be freely driven to move in first and second axial directions orthogonal to each other. The tool rest is also being provided so as to freely rotate about a third axis orthogonal to the first and second axial directions so as to be positioned at a selected tool-rest angle with respect to the workpiece. The machine tool includes suitable features to allow inputting of machining information, computing of a cutting pattern, and execution of screw-machining.

摘要: In a complex tool to be installed on a machine tool capable of turning machining and milling machining operations, a main body is provided, and carries inserts for turning machining, inserts for milling machining and inserts for drilling machining. Turning machining and drilling/milling machining operations can be executed using the inserts installed on the main body, without the need for tool exchange, saving time and labor. The inserts as installed have opposite rotational cutting directions, and are placed on opposite sides of concavities that extend radially inwardly and axially back from the end of the main body. The inserts can be placed at the same or different cutting distances and can be brought into engagement with the workpiece by selection of the relative orientations of the rotation axis and the workpiece.
