    摘要: Drawn configurations of transparent electrodes from connection terminals to pixels in a liquid crystal display device are made different from each other according to the positional relationship between the pixels and the connection terminals, so that the resistance value of a drawn portion and the difference in resistance values between adjoining pixels are made low. This structure improves not only the picture quality of a liquid crystal display device with a wide pitch screen in which a multi-output terminal IC is connected by using fine electrodes, but also the patterning yield.

    摘要: It is aimed to, in a manufacturing method for a display device including a translucent substrate bonded to a display panel using a translucent adhesive, realize a bright display screen free from an air layer formed between the display panel and the translucent substrate. For this purpose, a first adhesive layer made of a first adhesive is formed between a frame body and an exposed surface of an upper portion of the display panel, a second adhesive is next applied onto a surface of the translucent substrate, and the surface applied with the second adhesive is faced downward and is bonded to a top surface of the display panel including the first adhesive layer formed thereon, to thereby cure the second adhesive. Accordingly, the adhesive can be filled between the top surface of the display panel and a bottom surface of the translucent substrate without trapping bubbles or voids therebetween.

    摘要: A display device of the present invention switches between two displays, a main panel display and a sub-panel display, by using one driver IC. Liquid crystals having different optimal driver voltages are used in the main panel and the sub-panel, and the optimal driver voltage for the panel in which display is to be performed is output. A driver voltage that is higher or lower than the optimal driver voltage is applied to the display panel where display is not to be performed, and the entire display thereof displays a single color. Display content of the panel on which display is not to be performed cannot be identified.

    摘要: In a manufacturing method for a liquid crystal display device, a translucent first adhesive is placed between a first surface of a substrate and a display surface of a liquid crystal panel so that the first adhesive covers the entire surface of the liquid crystal panel. The first adhesive is cured to bond the substrate and the liquid crystal panel. The bonded substrate and liquid crystal panel are positionally aligned relative to a backlight unit. A second adhesive is placed between the substrate and the backlight unit so that the second adhesive surrounds an outer peripheral end portion of the liquid crystal panel. The first adhesive is cured to integrally bond the substrate, liquid crystal panel, and backlight unit to each other.

    摘要: A display device has a first color display panel having multi-color pixels formed of two groups of electrodes corresponding to signal electrodes and scanning electrodes. A second display panel has single-color pixels formed of two groups of electrodes corresponding to signal electrodes and scanning electrodes. The number of the signal electrodes of the second display panel are fewer in number than the signal electrodes of the first color display panel. A driver integrated circuit outputs driving signals shared commonly by and supplied to the signal and scanning electrodes of the first and second display panels. The driving signals output from the driver integrated circuit are supplied to the signal electrodes of the second display panel in only one color from among the colors of the multi-color pixels of the first display panel.

    摘要: With a double-sided display module having a main panel and a sub-panel sharing drive signals, the image quality of the main panel is improved. When the display devices uses the same driver IC to drive the main panel and the sub-panel, the contrast is uneven at the border area between a region of the main panel where signal electrodes share drive signals with the sub-panel and a region of the main panel where signals electrodes do not share drive signals. In order to make the contrast unevenness practically invisible to the naked eye, an unshared electrode adjacent to the border between different contrast levels on the main panel is connected to the dummy electrode. The dummy electrode has to be smaller than the total overlap area of one electrode that constitutes a pixel of the sub-panel. In the case where the sub-panel has more than one dummy electrode, the dummy electrodes are gradually made smaller.
