Abstract: A blender tub for hydraulic fracturing operations and associated components are provided. A spinning proppant distributor located above the blender tub liquid level interrupts and redirects falling granular proppant material (e.g. sand) into the tub. A fluid intake channel wraps around at least part of the blender tub outside wall and introduces liquid (e.g. water) into the blender tub via a plurality of channels. The liquid is introduced with a force and angle which imparts a vortex within the blender tub. The above aspects facilitate blending of material within the tub.

Abstract: A proppant metering and loading apparatus for a hydraulic fracturing blender unit is provided. A continuous loop conveyor belt receives proppant from a source location on the blender, such as a hopper, and delivers the proppant to a blender device of the blender. A measurement device (e.g. weigh scale) measures and provides an indication of amount (e.g. weight, volume and/or density) of the proppant delivered to the blender device by the conveyor belt.

Abstract: An apparatus for covering an open top of a transportation trailer container, such as a chip train carrying wood chips, is provided. A flexible cover (e.g. tarp) may be deployed and retracted using a roller moved overtop of the container using pivotable arms. An electrically powered covering mechanism automatically deploys and retracts the cover. The covering mechanism is powered by a supercapacitor, which is charged when connected to an external power source. A charging control circuit can selectably allow or inhibit charging of the supercapacitor depending on power demands of other electrical loads.

Abstract: Control solutions for a mobile conveyor vehicle are provided. The vehicle includes a pair of movable belt conveyor systems for conveying bulk material to an elevated location. One of the conveyors may be rotated via turntable while the other is rotated by four-wheel steering motion of the vehicle. The control system may be configured to: receive user input indicative of desired infeed location of the infeed end and a desired output location of the output end; determine a desired control solution for disposing the infeed end at the desired infeed location and disposing the output end at the desired output location; and cooperatively operate the first powered actuator system, the second powered actuator system and the powered drive system according to the desired control solution.
