Abstract: One embodiment relates to a system and method by which the magnetic susceptibility of a fluid is changed to separate the fluid according to differences in magnetic susceptibility. According to one embodiment, a fluid separation system and method can efficiently separate materials contained in a fluid according to magnetic susceptibility, without damage such as hemolysis or without changes in the types or concentrations of marker proteins in plasma.
