Abstract: Apparatus for transferring a shock wave front from one detonating cord to another including quick-disconnect end connectors adapted to provide the respective ends of the cords with a quick-disconnect capability and a central interconnector having quick-disconnect mating end portions. Each detonating cord is attached to its respective end of the interconnector which itself might extend through an intervening obstruction. The central interconnector includes a cylindrical housing enclosing an explosive transfer lead composed of hexanitrostilbene explosive.

Abstract: A device for simultaneously transferring a single explosive detonation from an initial detonation point to a plurality of detonation points. The device comprises four circular plates arranged in a stacked configuration with each plate including an arrangement of intersecting slots in which lengths of heat resistant mild detonating cord are positioned terminating in explosive booster ends. The explosive booster end of each detonating cord is positioned superjacently to the point of intersection of an arrangement of slots in a subjacent plate. In a preferred embodiment, the uppermost plate has four explosive terminations, the plate subjacent thereto sixteen, the next subjacent plate fifty-two with the lowermost plate having fiftytwo explosive charges.

Abstract: 1. An end coupler for transmitting a detonation from a heat resistant mild detonating fuse to a base charge having a diameter greater than the diameter of the mild detonating fuse comprising, AN ELONGATED HOUSING, SAID HOUSING HAVING A TAPERED RECESS FORMED IN ONE END THEREOF, SAID HOUSING HAVING AN AXIAL BORE FORMED IN THE OTHER END THEREOF AND INTERSECTING SAID TAPERED RECESS, TAPERED RECESS BEING FILLED WITH HEXANITROSTILBENE (Grade 1) explosive, WHEREBY A HEAT RESISTANT MILD DETONATING FUSE MAY BE INSERTED INTO SAID AXIAL BORE AND A BASE CHARGE MAY BE POSITIONED ADJACENT SAID ONE END OF SAID HOUSING SO THAT SAID END COUPLER MAY AMPLIFY A SHOCK WAVE PRODUCED BY THE MILD DETONATING FUSE TO A MAGNITUDE NECESSARY FOR THE DETONATION OF THE BASE CHARGE.
