Abstract:
An airbag system is provided for a motor vehicle with a first and second inflatable protective chamber, which when inflated form an angle with each other. The first and second protective chambers are linked to each other and/or to a gas feed along one side; and/or that a third inflatable protective chamber is provided, which when inflated forms an angle with the first and second protective chambers.
Abstract:
A vehicle interior cladding is provided for one or more vehicle components situated in or adjacent to the vehicle passenger compartment, in particular for the dashboard of a vehicle, with an airbag cover, under which an airbag is arranged in an airbag module for a restraint function. The vehicle interior cladding exhibits at least two separate cladding components that are provided for cladding different areas of one or more arranged vehicle components, in particular for a passenger side dashboard. A first cladding component at least partially envelops the airbag cover and a second cladding component forms a visible boundary line with the airbag cover. An airbag through opening is formed in the vehicle interior cladding at least partially in the area of the boundary line during the deployment of the airbag.
Abstract:
A restraint system is provided that includes, but is not limited to at least one airbag module having an airbag having at least one chamber for front vehicle occupants in a vehicle, a space at a distance from the windshield between dashboard and front vehicle occupant being fillable using the airbag by unfolding. To improve the vehicle comfort and the passenger safety according to the current and future requirements and provide more interior space, the airbag module is fastenable to a vehicle body structure forming the front vehicle interior, the restraint system being implemented using an airbag enlarged by a depth (T) of a dashboard.
Abstract:
A one-piece housing that can be manufactured in one operation for an inflatable air bag in a motor vehicle is described, in which the housing has two chambers, one of which accommodates the air bag module and the other is a diffusor chamber with chamber walls having gas passage openings, into which the gas generator is introduced. Reinforcing ribs of the housing are made in one piece with the diffusor chamber wall.
Abstract:
An air bag module arrangement is provided for a motor vehicle, which includes, but is not limited to an air bag module a one driver-side dashboard panel that is fastened to an internal transverse support. In order to allow a simply constructed and simple fastening, the air bag module is fastened to an external transverse support of the external vehicle structure. An air bag and a method for fastening an air bag module, in particular for producing an air bag module arrangement, are also provided for a motor vehicle.
Abstract:
An occupant protection device is provided for a vehicle, with at least one airbag module, which is entirely or partially covered by a fiber material, wherein the airbag module includes, but is not limited to at least one opening line. The at least one opening line is suitable for and/or designed for providing an opening function. The at least one opening line is covered with a tear-open region of the fiber material. The tear-open region in transverse extension over the opening line is designed homogenously.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for controlling a reversible seat belt pretensioner in a motor vehicle, comprising the steps of detecting the speed and the steering angle of the vehicle, calculating an expected turning rate of the vehicle about its vertical axis from the speed and the steering angle and calculating an upper and a lower turning rate limiting value using the expected turning rate, detecting the actual turning rate of the vehicle about its vertical axis and activating the seat belt pretensioner of the vehicle if the actual turning rate of the vehicle is greater than the upper turning rate limiting value or is less than the lower turning rate limiting value. The present invention also relates to a safety arrangement for implementing the method according to the invention.
Abstract:
A housing for an inflatable air bag in a motor vehicle with a diffusor section capable of receiving a gas generator, a shot channel section receiving the airbag, and fastening brackets. A plurality of reinforcing ribs have a shape and are positioned on the shot channel section for counteracting expansion of the shot channel section at an outer contour. The diffusor section, the shot channel section, the fastening section and the plurality of reinforcing ribs are formed in one piece and with a plurality of walls. An edge of the shot channel section is multiwalled and all the parts of the housing are homogeneously connected to each other.
Abstract:
An actuator is provided for raising the front hood of a vehicle having at least one extension part, by whose extension movement the front hood of the vehicle can be raised or is raised. It is provided that the extension part is at least partially formed by a planar formation, which is deformable from a first shape (e.g., a starting shape) into a second shape (e.g., an intermediate shape or final shape) to raise the front hood. Furthermore, a motor vehicle is provided that has an actuator for raising the vehicle front hood and a pedestrian protection system for a vehicle.
Abstract:
A motor vehicle, in particular a passenger automobile, is provided with a vehicle body, at least one head airbag and one gas generator for filling the head airbag. The gas generator being fastened to an element of the vehicle body that extends essentially in the vehicle transverse direction.
