Abstract:
A method and control arrangement are disclosed for controlling power output of a wind power plant (WPP) including a plurality of wind turbine generators (WTGs). The method includes determining that overboosting is required for the WPP to meet a power demand at the WPP, and determining, for at least a first WTG of the plurality of WTGs, a corresponding amount of overboost capacity. The method further includes generating, based on the determined amount of overboost capacity, control signals causing the first WTG to increase its power output through overboosting to thereby fulfill at least a portion of the power demand.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for controlling a wind power plant, WPP, comprising a plurality of wind turbine generators, WTGs, connected to an electrical grid, the method comprising: setting a plant power reference (Ptotal) according to an electrical value of the electrical grid; determining an inertia delta power reference (IRdeltaP) required for the WPP to meet a power demand in response to a change in the electrical value; adding the inertia delta power reference and the plant power reference (Ptotal) to form a power reference (Ptotalref); deriving an overboost reference (PrefOB) as the difference between the power reference (Ptotalref) and an available power value; dispatching the power reference (Ptotalref) to each wind turbine generator; dispatching the overboost reference (PrefOB) to each wind turbine generator. The invention also relates to a wind power plant control system and a wind power plant comprising a control system.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a hybrid power plant with a plurality of energy assets comprising several renewable power generating units, preferably in turn comprising wind turbines and/or solar power units, and an energy storage unit, such as battery energy system. A power plant controller receives information indicative of a power limitation from the energy storage unit, and dynamically modify the active power set points by corresponding weighting factors according to the capabilities of the respective energy assets in response to this power limitation so as to produce active power from the hybrid power plant. The invention may compensate for this power limitation by modifying correspondingly the active power set points of the hybrid power plant according to the capability of the energy assets so as to maintain a desired power production, and maintain a sufficiently smooth ramp rate when changing a parameter related to the power production.
