Abstract: A method of manufacturing a vacuum insulated glazing (VIG) unit, the method comprising disposing a sealing composition around a periphery of first and second substantially parallel glass panes to define a cavity and form a pre-sealed VIG unit; flowing gas comprising a reactive oxygen species into the cavity; heating the sealing composition to a first temperature; and heating the sealing composition to a second temperature to form the peripheral seal and a sealed cavity between the first and second glass panes.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an aperture cover such as a window or a door. The aperture cover comprises a vacuum insulated glass unit (3), and a frame (2, 17) such as a sash. The frame (2, 17) comprises elongated structural frame members (8) which together encloses a frame opening (2a). The vacuum insulated glass unit (3) overlaps (18) at least one of the elongated structural frame members (8) so that the edge surface (7) of the vacuum insulated glass unit (3) extends beyond the outer side surface (14) of the overlapped elongated structural frame member (8). The frame (2) moreover comprises an elongated connection profile (6) comprising a connection wall member (6a) which extends parallel to the overlapped structural frame member (8) and is connected to at least one of the outer major surfaces (S1, S2) of the vacuum insulated glass unit (3), and the elongated connection profile (6) comprises a fixation member (6b) which is connected to the overlapped structural frame member (8).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of producing a vacuum insulated glazing unit, the vacuum insulated glazing unit comprises a first tempered glass pane and a second tempered glass pane arranged in parallel, having a surface of each pane opposing each other with pillars arranged as spacers between the opposed surfaces.
A side frit material is peripherally arranged between the first glass pane and the second glass pane creating an internal void between the glass panes. An evacuation opening is provided in the first glass pane and the evacuation opening comprises an evacuation member, preferably a hollow tube, through which evacuation member the internal void can be evacuated. A top frit material made of lead-free solder frit material comprising a glass content, the top frit material being arranged around the evacuation opening and comprising a surface defining an exterior boundary of the top frit material between the outside of the vacuum insulated glazing unit and the inside of the top frit material, wherein the glass content thereof is substantially in an amorphous state only.-

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a vacuum insulated glazing unit, to the use thereof and to a method of manufacturing such a unit. The vacuum insulated glazing comprises a first glass pane, having a first interior major surface and a first exterior major surface and a second glass pane having a second interior major surface and second exterior major surface, the glass panes being arranged in parallel with said interior major surfaces facing each other. The VIG unit further comprises a low emissivity coating deposited on at least the first interior major surface, an edge region in proximity to the edge of the first glass pane, defined as where none or a reduced part of the low emissivity coating is present, and a side seal comprising a glassy seal material arranged at a minimum separation distance (d1_min) from said low emissivity coating, so that an intermediate part of said edge region between said glassy sealing material and said low emissivity coating is not bonded to said glassy sealing material, or a side seal arranged at a minimum separation distance (d1_min) of at least 1.5 mm, such as at least 2 mm, or such as at least 3 mm from said low emissivity coating.

Abstract: The invention relates to a gasket for evacuation a void in a vacuum insulated glazing unit, a method for producing a vacuum insulated glazing unit, a gasket for use in the production of a vacuum insulated glazing unit and apparatus comprising an evacuation cup and a gasket. The present invention furthermore relates to the use of a gasket. The gasket is adapted for being positioned between the outer surface of the first pane and an evacuation cup, the evacuation cup comprising, a first cavity with a first cavity opening, an exhaust opening for evacuating the void via the first cavity opening, an evacuation cup body and one or more contact surfaces wherein the gasket is adapted to provide an air tight seal between the evacuation cup and the first glass pane during evacuation of the void, wherein the gasket comprises a gasket material which constitutes the majority of the gasket, is compressible between the evacuation cup and outer surface of the first pane with an out of plane module of elasticity below 50 GPa, such as below 30 GPa, such as below 25 GPa and has a melting temperature above 400 degrees Celsius.
