Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture are disclosed to improve containerized application visibility. An example apparatus includes a container application manager to build an inventory of the containerized application, the containerized application including a virtual machine, the virtual machine hosting one or more containers, and a network topology builder to invoke a virtual machine agent of the virtual machine to obtain network traffic events from the one or more containers to generate network topology information associated with the containerized application based on the inventory, generate a network topology for the containerized application based on the network topology information, build the visualization based on the network topology, the visualization including the inventory and the network topology information, and launch a user interface to display the visualization to execute one or more computing tasks.

Abstract: Systems and methods for exchanging network information between member clusters include configuring a gateway pool of a member cluster, the gateway pool comprising a plurality of gateway nodes, the member cluster comprising the plurality of gateway nodes and one or more nodes, configuring a gateway node of the plurality of gateway nodes as an active gateway node for the member cluster, writing member cluster information to a storage, the member cluster information indicating address information of the gateway node, reading second member cluster information from the storage, the second member cluster information indicating address information of a gateway node of a second member cluster, establishing a tunnel between the gateway node and the second gateway node based on the second member cluster information, and communicating network traffic from at least one node of the member cluster to at least one node of the second member cluster via the tunnel.

Abstract: Described herein are systems, methods, and software to manage multicast communications for containers in a computing network. In one example, a first node is configured to monitor for registration packets from pods on the first node to join a multicast group. The first node further identifies a registration packet from a first pod of the pods, wherein the registration packet indicates a multicast IP address, and configures one or more forwarding rules in a virtual switch to direct packets with the multicast IP address as a destination IP address to a virtual interface for the first pod. Once configured, the first node is further configured to receive a packet with the multicast IP address as the destination and direct the packet based on the one or more or more forwarding rules.

Abstract: The disclosure provides an approach for cross-cluster service resource discovery. A method includes obtaining, at a common store in a first node cluster in a cluster set information about a service resource of a second node cluster. The method includes creating a multi-cluster object associated with the service resource, wherein the multi-cluster object provides an association between the service resource and one or more endpoints on the second node cluster. The method includes storing the multi-cluster object in the common store, wherein the multi-cluster object is accessible in the common store by any of the plurality of node clusters in the cluster set to access the service resource on any of the one or more endpoints on the second node cluster.

Abstract: Techniques associated with exchanging data between clusters are disclosed. A data packet can be received from a first pod in a first cluster of a cluster set that targets a second pod or service in a second cluster of the cluster set. A label identity is determined for the first pod from a table of pods and label identities. The label identity for the first pod is added in a virtual network identifier field of a data packet header. The data packet is communicated from a first virtual switch to the second cluster through a tunnel interface and gateway node. Upon receipt of the data packet, the label identity is extracted from the data packet header, and an ingress rule associated with the label identity can be determined. Access to the second pod is controlled based on the rule.
