摘要: A method and apparatus for scheduling execution of a grid project in accordance with multiple dimensions of dynamic load factors. The present invention provides a mechanism for determining grid node availability based on both processor load and network traffic loads on the nodes in a grid of computing devices. This availability information is used to determine scheduling of the running of grid projects.

摘要: A method and apparatus for depicting grid availability at various times and for illustrating a simulation of the way in which a grid project will be executed based on grid availability. In addition, the affects of introducing new nodes into the grid may be determined and the affects on the simulated behavior of the grid with regard to the running of a grid project may be depicted using the graphical user interface. From this information, a user may determine the optimal time to initiate processing of a grid project by the computing grid.

摘要: A method and apparatus for modeling grid projects, such that their network and node resources may be readily determinable for simulation, scheduling, and control purposes. A model of a grid project is generated using a standardized grid project modeling language that sets forth a sequence of grid project phases. Within each phase, there may be any number of descriptions of parallel activities that need to be performed, such as, CPU processing, network activity, both, or even nested “sub” phases. Each of the descriptions specifies the properties of the described activities, such as the quantity of CPU required, network traffic expected, prerequisites, dependencies, activity splitting limits and characteristics, reliability actions, etc. The grid project model is parseable by the present invention to determine the various phases of a grid project and the various characteristics of each phase.

摘要: A soap dispenser system includes a venturi suction tube having a soap supply bore intersecting the main through bore; a soap dispenser controlling dispensing of soap from a container; and a supply tube connecting the soap dispenser to the soap supply bore of the suction tube; the soap dispenser including an inner tube having fluidly connected with the supply tube, an outer tube movably mounted over the inner tube and connected with the container, the outer tube fluidly connected with soap from the container and adapted to be fluidly connected with the inlet of the inner tube, a spring applying pressure between the inner tube and the outer tube in a direction to move them apart, a valve permitting soap to enter the inlet of the inner tube only when the outer tube is moved toward the inner tube against the force of the biasing device.

摘要: The present invention provides a checkout system which comprises an item accumulation (bagging) area which is partitioned into two or more sections using a flexible divider. The flexible divider extends from the entry zone of the accumulation area to a point on the boundary of the accumulation zone, but is longer than required to achieve this. When items are introduced into one section of the bagging area, if the items push against the flexible divider, for example due to weight of numbers, the divider flexes into the other section thereby making more space available in the current section for the items. Optionally the flexible divider is movable between two positions in the entry zone such that it further acts as a diverter for diverting items into one or other of the two sections and preferably a motor is used to automatically perform the movement.
