摘要: Froth Flotation method of separation of sodium compounds, principally nahcolite, dawsonite, trona, related authigenic sodium ores, and corresponding sodium compounds including sodium carbonate and sodium bicarboate, from kerogen-type organics-containing rock, by use of sodium carbonate and/or sodium bicarbonate-containing brines having a basic pH ranging above about 7.0, preferably 8.0 - 12.0, and recovering a sodium compounds-rich fraction as a non-float portion, and an organics-rich fraction as a float portion. Frothers, froth control agents and collection agents may be used separately or in combination. Single or multiple-stage flotation, with cleaning, conditioning, scavenging, reflotation, and combining of products may be used. Feed ore and products may be screened to upgrade the head or product assay. By this method, raw or retorted oil shale may be separated from sodium minerals or compounds contained therein.

摘要: Disclosed is a process for concentrating stibnite (antimony sulfide) and separating it from iron sulfide minerals such as pyrite by froth flotation using untreated recirculated water or mine water which is acidic and may be heavily loaded with metal salts. The process features the use of a water-soluble zinc-cyanide complex salt to depress iron sulfide minerals. A conventional xanthate collector is employed. The process may also be applied to separate sulfides of arsenic, bismuth, tin and lead, as well as complexes of sulfides of arsenic, antimony, tin or bismuth, or mixtures of the aforementioned, from iron sulfide minerals or from sulfides of copper, zinc and nickel, or mixtures of the aforementioned.

摘要: Tin values in the form of cassiterite (SnO.sub.2) are recovered from aqueous pulps of finely divided cassiterite-bearing ore, preconcentrate or concentrate by froth flotation. The ore pulps are deslimed thoroughly, partially or not at all. Slimes, gangue or waste minerals in the pulps are selectively depressed by use of a metal salt/silicate reagent combination. The cassiterite is floated at a mildly acidic to neutral pH, generally in the range of about 5 to 6, by one and/or more highly selective tin collectors such as sulfosuccinamates, aspartates, phosphonates, etc., at environmental or, preferably, elevated pulp temperature. Flotation machine impeller speeds are within conventional range or higher, preferably the latter. The cleaning of the thus-produced cassiterite rougher flotation concentrate is performed after an additional (secondary) conditioning step whereby an additional depressant, such as tannic acid, sulfuric acid, sodium fluosilicate, sodium lignin sulfonate or activated charcoal is used.
