In particular the process relates to an additive composition that has the appropriate surfactant characteristics for effectively removing an oil phase from an oil/aqueous mixed phase via foam fractionation. According to the invention, a hydrophobically modified polymer that acts as an associative thickener is combined with surfactant in appropriate ratios to facilitate oil removal for water purification in any of a number of commercial, environmental and industrial applications.

摘要: Described herein are methods for flotation of an ore. The methods include providing an aqueous suspension having an ore in the form of particles, water, and a first frothing agent including a poly(tetrahydrofuran), in a flotation cell to obtain a provided aqueous suspension. The method further includes introducing air into the provided aqueous suspension to obtain a froth. Further described herein are specific aqueous suspensions having ore particles and poly(tetrahydrofuran) and uses of poly(tetrahydrofuran) as a frothing agent for an aqueous suspension having an ore in the form of particles.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a concentrate enriched in a phosphate mineral content from an ore, which contains a phosphate mineral and a non-phosphate mineral, by a flotation, which method comprises the step of adding a surfactant system comprising (A) a fatty acid, (B) a blend of ethoxylated and non-ethoxylated alcohols, which is obtainable by blending (i) a reaction product of a first C12-C16 aliphatic alcohol having an average degree of branching of 1.9 to 3.5 and 10 to 20 equivalents of ethylene oxide, and (ii) a second C12-C16 aliphatic alcohol having an average degree of branching of 1.9 to 3.5, wherein the amount of (i) is 80 to 95 wt. % and the amount of (ii) is 5 to 20 wt. % and wt. % is based on the overall weight of the mixture of ethoxylated and non-ethoxylated alcohols, to a prepared aqueous pulp of the ore and optionally one or more flotation auxiliaries to obtain an aqueous mixture. Furthermore, a use of the surfactant system as flotation collector is disclosed.

摘要: A process of phosphate flotation comprising: pulping phosphate ore with water to about 55% to 75% solids to produce an ore slurry; conditioning the ore slurry with a new reagent scheme to produce a conditioned slurry; subjecting the conditioned slurry to flotation to produce an underflow and an overflow; and collecting the overflow as phosphate concentrate. The new reagent scheme may comprise a combination of fatty acid, fuel oil, and fatty acid soap, and may not comprise a pH modifier. The process may also work effectively at a lower percent solids than conventional reagent schemes.
