Abstract: A housing for receiving battery cells, in particular for forming a battery system for a motor vehicle, includes a first housing part and a second housing part connected to the first housing part. A sealing channel is formed between the first housing part and the second housing part. A sealant for sealing the first housing part against the second housing part is arranged in the sealing channel. A corresponding production method is also described.
