摘要： A keyboard has two segments connected to each other at their rear ends by a connector. The two segments can be pivoted about the connector through 90.degree. in the plane of a support surface for the keyboard. In one embodiment, each keyboard segment may be disposed at a maximum angle of 45.degree. to its support surface in a plane perpendicular to its support surface. Thus, the two segments may be tilted 90.degree. with respect to each other. The two segments may be separated and supported individually through three pivotally mounted supports on its bottom surface. Two of the supports are disposed adjacent the rear corners and pivot on the same axis while the third support is disposed adjacent a lower inner corner of the segment and pivots on an axis perpendicular to the pivot axis of the other two supports. Each of the supports has two legs of different lengths to permit various tilting configurations of each segment with one of the legs having an adjustable length in one embodiment.

摘要： A trackball assembly has a ball supported on a bottom ball support, which is rotatably and translationally mounted on a lower support having an upper support conntected thereto. The ball protrudes through an opening, which has a beveled inner surface, in a retaining cap releasably secured to an upper wall of the upper support to enable manipulation of the ball by a user to position a pointer on a computer screen. The amount and direction of movement of the ball during its rotation in each of X and Y coordinate directions are sensed by two silicone rubber rollers, which are substantially perpendicular to each other, engaging the ball. Each roller is mounted on a metal shaft, which extends through an enlarged hole in a shaft support mounted on the lower support to enable limited pivoting of the shaft and the roller thereon. The amount of pivoting of each of the shafts towards the ball by the force of a magnet, which is supported on the bottom of the bottom ball support, is limited by a retaining portion of the bottom ball support. Each of the shafts has an encoder wheel mounted thereon for cooperation with photosources and photodetectors mounted on the lower support. The photosources and the photodetectors enable determination of the amount and direction of movement of the ball in each of the X and Y directions during any rotation of the ball.

The incoming signal includes an advertisement from an advertiser. The television device determines if the advertisement includes a compensation offer descriptor. Responsive to a presence of the compensation offer descriptor, the television device determines if a user views the advertisement on a display in its entirety. Responsive to the user viewing the advertisement in its entirety, the television device issues a compensation offer to the user.

摘要： A locking device is disclosed which substantially restricts access to the cassettes or drawers within a vault or safe, including an ATM or ABM, and also restricts access to the cassette rack of the ATM/ABM, both resident within the vault or safe of an ATM/ABM. The blocking member restricts access to the cassettes or drawers and the cassette rack is mounted on a pair of supporting pins on a mounting bracket attached to the interior of a vault or safe, including an ATM/ABM. The blocking member may be removed from the supporting pins only after unlocking and withdrawal of a lock bolt from a strike hole in the mounting bracket. The blocking member must be lifted off the support pins and laid aside and later re-installed. By extending the bolt into the strike hole of the mounting bracket, the only available degree of freedom is eliminated preventing removal of the blocking member from the mounting bracket. Pivoting of the blocking member about the supporting pins is restricted by pivot blocks and/or a selection of cross sectional shapes of the pins and the mating holes in the blocking member. Locks of various natures may be used to control the removal of the blocking member. A requisite lock would have an extendible bolt which may extend into and through the strike hole in the mounting bracket.

摘要： A paper feed roll assembly is disclosed which is pivotally mounted on a central point with three degrees of freedom of movement. The feed rolls are engageable with the periphery of the platen. Additionally, the support for the paper feed rolls is deflectable about the central point by a feed roll release member to effect the withdrawal of the feed rolls from the periphery of the platen to enhance paper insertion and removal. The pivot point support provides for freedom of movement in the three necessary degrees of freedom to allow equilization of feed roll force against the platen and for alignment of the feed rolls with the periphery of the platen to insure proper paper feed. The feed roll truck frame, by virtue of its pivotal mounting, may be deflected downward to permit release or insertion of the paper. A deflection means or eccentric bar is disclosed for deflecting the truck member away from the periphery of the platen against the force of the pivot support acting toward the platen.
