摘要： The present invention relates to an improvement in a fountain pen in which the fountain pen is provided with a writing point feed bar and a casing for supporting the writing mechanism, there being a partition located adjacent to the feed bar and having a cylindrical boss extending away therefrom. The cartridge is provided with a double lip interior open end which is adapted to fit over the boss and conduct the ink into the bore that extends through the boss that communicates with the feed bar. The tapered nose end of the cartridge snugly fits into the bore of the casing adjacent the boss that communicates with the feed bar. This not only insures that the lip sealing is forced radially inward and is not disturbed, by also insures that the end of the cartridge engages the partition wall for sealing and the interior wall of the casing for additional sealing.

摘要： An applicator for local application of a liquid to a person's skin. The applicator includes a porous dome, a chamber under the dome, a squeeze bottle providing a reservoir containing the liquid, and a tube from the squeeze bottle to the chamber. The porous dome has pores sized to provide liquid transport therein by capillary action. The chamber provides a location for liquid in position to be transported into dome. Increased pressure in the reservoir from squeezing the bottle causes liquid to flow from the reservoir through the tube to the chamber, and decreased pressure in the reservoir from releasing the bottle causes excess liquid in the chamber to flow from the chamber through the tube to the reservoir. The applicator can include a squeeze bottle having a relatively rigid molded open-end portion connected to a porous dome and an integral flexible, blow-molded reservoir portion that can be squeezed to a reduced volume condition to deliver liquid to the dome and has memory to return to an unsqueezed volume condition.

摘要： A hand operated device for transferring an adhesive film from a carrier tape to a substrate is provided with a single spool having a portion containing the roll of carrier tape and a large diameter portion having a plurality of knurls formed on the circumference thereof. The tape is fed from the spool to contact the substrate and then fed between the knurls. A spring arm serves as a clutch by maintaining the tape in contact with the knurls but allowing slippage of the tape therebetween at a predetermined tape tension.

摘要： A writing instrument includes an advance-retract mechanism for projecting the writing tip from within the barrel for employment of the writing instrument, and retracting the tip to a point within the barrel, when the writing instrument is not in use. A plunger assembly includes a rotatable knob which is disposed at the top of the barrel and is interconnected to a finger which contacts the cam surface of a slidable actuator. Rotation of the knob in one direction advances the writing tip from within the barrel and opposite rotation of the knob is effective to retract the writing tip into the barrel.

A first collet is disposed in the pencil barrel for feeding the lead and a second collet is located at the barrel open end for retaining the lead during use of the pencil.
