摘要： A chassis for an electronics assembly comprises: (i) a frame (1); and (ii) a panel (31) located on a face of the frame, the panel comprising a plurality of cooling fans (22) and a holder (30) for the fans. The panel allows removal of individual fans from the panel and replacement of any fans while the panel is located on the frame, and the frame allows removal of the panel therefrom and replacement of the panel. The chassis thus allows replacement of any fans without the assembly being shut down, and also reduces downtime of the assembly if all the fans need replacing, for example for maintenance.

摘要： There is described a mounting assembly for attaching cooling units such as fans to a housing for electrical circuitry to provide a cooling inflow of air into the housing through an opening. Detents are provided on the housing at one side of the opening, and a fixing element is located at the other side of the opening. The cooling unit is provided with abutments for engaging the detents and a fastener for engaging the fixing element, to secure the cooling unit to the housing with minimum operator time. Embodiments of the invention provide a mounting plate and a mounting assembly for use with conventional cooling units and housings.

摘要： An enclosure for an electronics assembly, comprises (i) a housing (1) having a recess (36); and (ii) a module (40) for holding one or more components of the assembly, the module being insertable into the recess by sliding, and removable therefrom by sliding in a direction opposite to the direction of insertion; and (iii) a spring retaining element (48) located in one of the housing and the module, the element being in the form of a resiliently deformable arm that engages the other of the housing and the module when the module is inserted into position within the recess in order to prevent removal of the module from the recess. The arm can be manually bent to release the module from the recess, but the housing or the module allows a degree of movement of the retaining element during release of the module that is insufficient to allow the arm to bend beyond its elastic limit. The enclosure enables the module to be held firmly in place, but allows quick and easy release for maintenance of the assembly.
