摘要: A flexible cable which includes a Faraday shield sheath formed of a high permeability ferrous alloy filled matrix binder of conductive elastomer, which provides electromagnetic interference (EMI) isolation between the ambient environment about the cable and a conductor line or lines within the cable, or vice versa. The flexible cable shield may be embodied as a flexible electrical cable including at least the elements of a single electrically conductive core, an insulator sheath, and a Faraday shield sheath, and which may be manufactured as a single extruded cable. The conductive property of the matrix binder provides isotropic conductivity within the sheath, which is requisite of an effective Faraday shield. An important embodiment of invention which is implemented using the foregoing concepts is a multiple conductor flexible electrical cable that comprises two or more inner cables as described, and a pile of alternating insulator and a Faraday shield sheaths about the inner cables, similarly manufactured as an extruded pile.

摘要: There is presented a damage control device for reducing flow of fluid from ruptured vessel. The device comprises a flexible blanket including chips of permanently magnetized metal embedded in a molded blanket of flexible oil-impermeable elastomeric material, such that the blanket as a whole comprises a flexible permanent magnet. Strength strands are provided with each strand having a portion embedded in the molded blanket and a terminal portion extending beyond a blanket edge. An attachment rings is secured to the terminal portion of each strand. Generally peripheral portions of the blanket are adapted to engage and magnetically fix to wall portions of the vessel surrounding a rupture therein. A generally central portion of the blanket is adapted to overlie the rupture.

摘要: A viewgraph projector having a light above the transparency receiver and jecting downward through the transparency is provided. The projected image is received below the transparency by a condenser lens and further transmitted by a flexible fiber-optic cable. A projecting lens is provided at the output end of the fiber-optic cable for projecting the images to a screen. Structurally associated with the projecting lens is a device or means which enables removably affixing the projecting lens relative to a suitable support in a conference room environment, which device may for example constitute a clip, hooking means, clamp, or weights. This enables a subset of the aforesaid elements comprising the light source, transparency receiver, and condenser lens to be located independently of the projecting lens, as for example, to locations where they do not obstruct the audience's field of view or where backscattered illumination from the light source does not annoy the audience. A three-sided wall extends downward from the level of the light to the transparency receiver reducing external illumination and providing intrinsic convective cooling of the light.
