The machine comprises: a movable beam (6) to enable coiling down to take place in a selected one of a plurality of tanks; a rotary arm (7) suspended from the beam and rotatable about an axis which is movable by the beam into alignment with the axis of said selected tank; a parallelogram linkage (30) fixed to the free end of the rotary arm, said parallelogram linkage including a vertically fixed vertical arm connected to the rotary arm and a vertically movable vertical arm (34) linked to the fixed arm; a cable follower (40) connected to the bottom end of the vertically movable arm by means of a rod (19) articulated thereto; said cable follower being vertically movable by the parallelogram linkage and horizontally movable by said rod; and a cable tractor (15) supported by the parallelogram linkage and serving to regulate the speed of the cable as a function of the inward or outward direction of spiral winding for any given layer.

    摘要: A process and apparatus for the continuous solid state forming of semicrystalline polymers using roll-drawing is disclosed. The output of an extruded thick polymer profile is stabilized by a gear pump. The profile is passed through a die for the desired geometry and a cooling calibrator. The profile is heat conditioned in heating tunnels to a temperature below the melting point prior to deformation between sets of rolls. A plurality, e.g. four pairs of rolls apply both compression and tension to the polymer profile. The tension applied on the profile, the roll gap, the linear speed of the profile and its temperature are monitored and controlled for the amount of polymer deformation and relaxation allowed. High tensile modulus and strength, both in the longitudinal and transverse direction of the polymeric strip, can be achieved.

    摘要: An apparatus for thermal treatment of the human body, using electromagnetic waves (200 to 2500 Mc/s) and radiometric receivers for monitoring and possibly controlling the temperature reached by the living tissues. A generator at ultra high frequency delivers a power of about one Watt into a coaxial cable terminated by a probe emitting electromagnetic waves in the organ to be heated by dielectric losses in the medium. A multichannel receiver, switched at intervals, analyzes the radiation reemitted by the living tissues through the probe, then utilized as a receiving antenna.
