    Abstract: In some implementations, an exosuit includes a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a joint coupling the proximal and distal portion. The joint enables rotation of the distal portion about an axis with respect to the proximal portion. The exosuit includes a motor coupled to the proximal portion. The exosuit includes a transmission configured to apply force from the motor to actuate the joint. The transmission includes a spool arranged to be driven by the motor, a first cord segment extending from the spool to the distal portion, and a second cord segment extending from the spool to the distal portion. The exosuit includes a load cell assembly comprising a load cell and pulleys located at opposite sides of the load cell.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for configuring a multi-modal gas sensor array that includes multiple gas sensors. The multiple gas sensors include a first type of gas sensor and a second, different type of gas sensor. A test gas is provided to the gas sensors, where the test gas includes known analytes. Data generated by each of the gas sensors in response to the known analytes in the test gas is collected. A proper subset of gas sensors is selected to include in an optimized gas sensor array, based on the responses of the gas sensors to the known analytes in the test gas meeting a threshold response and meeting a threshold temporal response. The multi-modal gas sensor array is configured using the proper subset of gas sensors.

    Abstract: In some implementations, an exosuit comprises a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a joint coupling the proximal and distal portion. The joint enables rotation of the distal portion about an axis with respect to the proximal portion. The exosuit includes a motor coupled to the proximal portion and a transmission configured to apply force from the motor to actuate the joint. The transmission includes multiple stages of reduction, including: a first stage comprising a belt that couples the motor to a drive pulley such that rotation of the motor rotates the drive pulley; and a second stage comprising (i) a winch having a spool configured to rotate with the drive pulley, and (ii) a cord that couples the spool to the distal portion such that rotation of the spool applies a force to actuate the joint.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, for control systems for exosuits. In some implementations, a motor command to drive a motor of the exosuit is received. A reference value that indicates a desired level of force is determined from the motor command. A measurement is obtained from a load cell of the exosuit. A motor signal to provide to the motor that is expected to adjust the force applied to the load cell towards the desired level of force is determined. The motor signal is provided to the motor to adjust a force applied by the motor.

    Abstract: A hydrogen electrolyzer system generates hydrogen and oxygen gases via electrolysis. The hydrogen and oxygen gases are exhausted to hydrogen and oxygen exhaust manifolds, respectively. An absolute pressure in one of the hydrogen or oxygen exhaust manifolds is monitored. A differential pressure between the hydrogen and oxygen exhaust manifolds is monitored. Backpressures in the hydrogen and oxygen exhaust manifolds are controlled based upon the absolute and differential pressures.

    Abstract: A hydrogen electrolyzer cell includes a shared reservoir, anode and cathode chambers, and a dividing wall. The shared reservoir holds an electrolytic solution. The anode chamber extends up from the shared reservoir and includes an anode electrode for producing oxygen gas during an electrolysis of the electrolytic solution. An oxygen degassing region is integrated into the anode chamber above the anode electrode. The cathode chamber extends up from the shared reservoir and includes a cathode electrode for producing hydrogen gas during the electrolysis. A hydrogen degassing region is integrated into the cathode chamber above the cathode electrode. The dividing wall extends up from the shared reservoir and separates the anode chamber from the cathode chamber. The dividing wall blocks transport of charged ions within the electrolytic solution across the dividing wall and blocks mixing of the hydrogen and oxygen gases released during the electrolysis.
