    Abstract: Colored particulate blends may be produced by combining thermoplastic polymer particulates that differ from one another in color. Such colored particulate blends may comprise: a first plurality of thermoplastic polymer particulates comprising a first thermoplastic polymer and a first colorant blended with the first thermoplastic polymer in an interior of the thermoplastic polymer particulates, and a second plurality of thermoplastic polymer particulates comprising a second thermoplastic polymer and, optionally, a second colorant blended with the second thermoplastic polymer in an interior of the thermoplastic polymer particulates. The first plurality of thermoplastic polymer particulates has a first color, and the second plurality of thermoplastic polymer particulates has a second color different than the first color, and the second colorant, if present, is different than the first colorant. The colored particulate blends are visually homogenous and appear as a single color different than the first color and the second color.

    Abstract: Polymer coated particulates may be produced by melt emulsification methods, for example, by mixing a mixture comprising: a carrier fluid, particulates, a thermoplastic polymer, and optionally an emulsion stabilizer at a temperature at or greater than a melting point or softening temperature of the thermoplastic polymer, wherein a mass ratio of the particulates to the thermoplastic polymer is about 1:0.1 to about 1:5; cooling the mixture to below the melting point or softening temperature to form polymer coated particulates; and separating the polymer coated particulates from the carrier fluid.

    Abstract: A structured organic film (SOF) includes a plurality of segments, and a plurality of linkers, where at least one of the plurality of linkers connects at least one of the plurality of segments. The film also includes where at least one or more of the plurality of segments may include an ionic species or a nonionic species. The structured organic film (SOF) can include a piperidinium-based quaternary ammonium segment. The piperidinium-based quaternary ammonium compound may include N-hydroxyethylmethyl-4-piperidiniummethanol (NHM4PiP). At least one of the plurality of segments may include a pyridinium-based quaternary ammonium compound. The pyridinium-based quaternary ammonium compound may include N-hydroxyethyl-4-pyridiniummethanol (NH4MPy). Free-standing structured organic films can be folded without cracking at a fold line and are flexible and water-swellable and stable without tearing during exposure to water, and flexible and stable without tearing subsequent to water exposure and drying.
