摘要: The present invention provides a light redirecting article for redirecting light toward a target angle, the light redirecting article comprising: an input surface comprising a plurality of light redirecting structures. Each light redirecting structure has (i) a near surface having two slopes, sloping away from normal in one direction as defined by a first inclination base angle β1, a second inclination angle β2, and a first half apex angle α2, for accepting incident illumination over a range of incident angles and (ii) a far surface sloping away from normal, in the opposite direction relative to the input surface, as defined by a second base angle γ1 and a second half apex angle α1. In addition, light redirecting structures has (b) an output surface opposing to the input surface, wherein the near and far surfaces are opposed to each other at an angle (α1+α2), and the base angle β1 is greater than or equal to 90 degrees.

摘要: The apparatus, methods, system and devices of the present invention provides transflective LCD system structure wherein each pixel is composed of at least three reflective sub-pixels and at least one transmissive sub-pixel. The reflective sub-pixels have a color filter layer for displaying color reflective images and the transmissive sub-pixel it is driven by color sequential imaging method for displaying a color transmissive image. The configuration of the sub-pixels and the location of the sub-pixel electronics increases the aperture ratio of both transmissive sub-pixel and reflective sub-pixel to improve the image brightness and lower the overall power consumption of the device.

摘要: A transflective display includes pixels each including a first electrode, a second electrode, a liquid crystal layer associated with the first and second electrodes, and a conductive reflective layer between the liquid crystal layer and the second electrode to reflect ambient light. The conductive reflective layer is insulated from the second electrode and covers less than all of the second electrode to allow backlight to be transmitted through a portion of the pixel not covered by the conductive reflective layer.
