    摘要: A transmitter, which is operated by a battery, wirelessly transmits data including data that represents the temperature T in a tire and data that represents the voltage V of the battery. A receiver judges whether or not the life of the battery is ending depending on the battery voltage V read from the received data. More specifically, the receiver performs the judgment regarding the life of the battery based on a comparison between the battery voltage V and a variable voltage reference value V0, which is selected in accordance with the temperature T in the tire. The judgment regarding the life of the battery is thus accurately performed.

    摘要: In detecting which transmitter of several of transmitters has transmitted a radio signal based on digital data from an RF circuit, a main controller of a receiver consecutively sends activation commands to each of several control circuits such that only one of the control circuits is activated at a time. The main controller detects which of the antennas corresponds to the control circuit that was activated when the voltage level signal from the RF circuit was lowest, and judges that the detected antenna is closest to the transmitter that transmitted the radio wave. As a result, the power consumption is reduced, and the transmitter that transmitted the radio wave is accurately detected.

The dynamic rolling radius of the tires is computed based on signals from rotation sensor units of the ABS. The weight of a load carried by the vehicle is computed based on the dynamic rolling radius of the tires and the internal air pressure of the tires detected by the tire condition monitoring apparatus. When computing the load weight, a load weight determination map, which previously sets the relationship among the internal air pressure of the tires, the dynamic rolling radius of the tires, and the weight of the load carried by the vehicle, is used.

The air valve is press-fitted to a valve hole in a wheel rim. The casing houses a substrate having a detecting element mounted thereon, an inverse F antenna element, a supporting member, and the like, and is provided with a partition-like reinforcement rib. The reinforcement rib extends along an extension of an axis of the air valve and is loosely fitted in a recessed slot of the supporting member. The antenna element supported by the supporting member has a substantially line symmetrical shape where a pair of radiation conductors symmetrically extend away from each other.

The valve stem has magnetic pieces. The pressure sensor measures the air pressure in the interior of the tire. The transmission circuit generates a transmission signal containing data that represents the measured air pressure. The magnetic ring magnetizes the magnetic pieces. The position of the magnetic ring relative to the magnetic pieces can be changed. A magnetized state of the magnetic pieces varies according to the position of the magnetic ring relative to the magnetic pieces. The MR sensor detects the magnetized state of the magnetic piece. The transmission signal contains data based on the detected magnetized state in addition to the tire condition data. This is capable of identifying the tire mount position.

    摘要: A transmitter is located in a tire of a vehicle and transmits data indicating a tire condition using a carrier wave. The transmitter has an oscillator circuit and a transmission controller. The oscillator circuit generates the carrier wave. The transmission controller compensates a deviation of the amplitude of the carrier wave generated by the oscillator circuit relative to a predetermined reference value such that the amplitude of the carrier becomes equal to the reference value. This is capable of maintaining a constant amplitude of a carrier wave.

    摘要: Different types of data included in a signal transmitted by a transmitter, except for synchronous data, are each configured by a binary code signal of a predetermined bit count. The synchronous data is configured by a signal of a pattern different from the bit codes that configure the data other than the synchronous data. This enables a receiver to recognize the synchronous data in the transmitted signal easily and reliably. Further, the data length of the synchronous data is shortened. This shortens the data length of the signal, thus ensuring optimal wireless communication between the transmitter and the receiver.
