摘要: An image display medium comprising a pair of substrates disposed opposed to each other and a group of at least two kinds of particles enclosed in the gap between the pair of substrates, at least one of the two or more kinds of particles being capable of being positively charged and at least the others being capable of being negatively charged and the particles capable of being positively and negatively charged having different colors, wherein both the particles capable of being positively and negatively charged have a shape factor of from greater than 100 to not greater than 140 as determined by the following equation: Shape factor=(L2/S)/4&pgr;×100 where S is the area of particle; and L is the perimeter of particle, and an image forming device comprising same.

摘要: An image display medium capable of providing an image display with less change in the image density, with less change in the uniformness of the density and at stable density contrast even after repetitive rewriting over a long period of time, and an image forming apparatus using the image display medium are provided. The image display medium and image forming apparatus have a pair of facing substrates, at least two kinds of particles sealed in a space between the pair of the substrates in which the at least two kinds of particles have a characteristic that at least one kind of them is positively chargeable and at least one other kind of them is negatively chargeable, and the particles chargeable positively and negatively are of colors different from each other and a charge controller is internally added to one or both of the particles chargeable positively and negatively.

摘要: The present invention provides an image display device capable of freely changing a scanning direction of an image display medium including support plates, first and second electrode groups provided at the plates and colored particles provided between the plates, including first and second electrode-driving components which receive electrode-designation signals and apply voltages to the designated electrodes in the first and second electrode groups, and which can apply voltage to plural electrodes simultaneously, a line-image-data generation component which generates line-image-data for line images to be displayed along scan electrodes in accordance with a scanning direction, and a signal-output-destination-switching component, in accordance with the scanning direction, which outputs a first electrode designation signal for designating a scan electrode of a line image and a second electrode designation signal for designating an electrode to be driven for displaying the line image, to the first electrode driving component or the second electrode driving component.

摘要: In an image display apparatus and image display method suppress the degradation of display function and the shortening of service life due to long-term use, measurement of a current value is carried out and the measured current value each time a certain time elapses is stored. The integrated value of the current is calculated, and a comparator compares the integrated value with a reference value stored in a storage section for determining whether or not the result is greater than a prescribed value. If the result is affirmed to differ by prescribed value, a recovery voltage is applied, and it is determined whether or not a recovery time has exceeded a stored recovery time. If the excedance of the recovery time is affirmed, the application of the recovery voltage is terminated. If a negation is given at the determination of the greater difference value, the flow is ended. If a negation is given at the determination of the recovery time, the recovery voltage is applied.

摘要: A medium writing apparatus obtains information to be written onto a recording medium, converts the information into a suitable writable format, and then writes the converted information onto the recording medium. An ID obtaining section obtains a medium ID from the recording medium, or through an input by the user. The medium ID and information indicating the place of the written information are sent to a server, and then stored as index information correlating them with each other. When the information written onto the recording medium is to be used at a later timing, the medium ID is identified, and the index information is obtained from the server. Therefore, the original information can be obtained so as to be easily reprocessed or reused.

An image display medium has a display substrate, having a first electrode, disposed on an image display surface side, a rear substrate having a plurality of second electrodes facing the display substrate, and two kinds of particle groups having different colors and charge characteristics sealed between the display substrate and the rear substrate movably between the first electrode and the second electrodes by an electric field. Before application of a display drive voltage for executing the image display, a voltage is applied to the image display medium by a voltage applying component so as to generate an electric field for moving the particle groups between the second electrodes to adjacent the second electrodes.
