Abstract: A method of treating a disease associated with intestinal barrier dysfunction in a subject is disclosed. The method comprises administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of an agent which downregulates the amount of glucose in intestinal cells, with the proviso that the disease is not Diabetes or obesity.
