    摘要: Provided herein are systems useful in a manufacturing environment for transmitting operational commands to one or more workstations at which a workpiece is being acted upon by one or more pieces of manufacturing process equipment. A system according to the invention utilizes the 802.11a communication standard in conveying command signals wirelessly from a source to a programmable logic controller that is adapted to control the actions of a piece of manufacturing process equipment. A system according to the invention is adaptable to multiple-stage manufacturing operations through use of a plurality of receiving stations which are each equipped with a wireless modem in cooperative connection with a programmable logic controller that controls a particular piece of manufacturing process equipment at each stage. Systems and processes according to the invention are applicable to nearly any manufacturing process, and allow increased flexibility in management and configuration of manufacturing operations, while conferring a high degree of portability in many cases.

    摘要: A magnetic latching system for protective tabletop pads for providing a convenient and secure latching system for removably connecting pad sections together in a manner that minimizes the risk of damaging the tabletop. A tabletop protective pad section is provided for resting on a top surface of a table with at least one other pad section. The preferred protective pad section comprises a base member having a first face for facing in an upward direction and a second face for facing in a downward direction, with the first and second faces being oriented substantially parallel to each other. Each of the first and second faces has a perimeter, and the base member has a perimeter edge face extending between the perimeters of the first and second faces. A pair of side portions of the perimeter edge face are oriented generally parallel to each other on opposite sides of the base member. A magnetically-active structure is mounted on the first side portion of the perimeter edge face of the base member, and a magnetically-receptive structure is mounted on the second side portion of the perimeter edge face of the base member. The magnetically-active structure of the first side portion of a first one of the pad sections is magnetically couplable to the magnetically-receptive structure of the second side portion of a second one of the pad sections for removably holding the first and second pad sections in an adjacent condition.

    摘要: The present invention discloses a window blind within a multi-pane window. A window blind disposed between first and second panes includes a plurality of slats. Raise/lower and tilt lines are coupled to the slats. A carriage housing is disposed between the panes proximate a side edge thereof. A tilt strip is disposed within the carriage housing and coupled to the tilt lines. An inner carriage disposed within the carriage housing includes an upper portion coupled to the raise/lower lines to actuate raising and lowering the slats, and a lower portion coupled to the tilt strip to actuate tilting the slats. An external carriage is adjacent the exterior surface and aligned with and magnetically coupled to the inner carriage. The external carriage is linearly movable to move the inner carriage. A method of adjusting a window blind within a multi-pane window is also disclosed.

    摘要: An improved table pad which is resistant to deflection and which is more readily produced is disclosed. The table pad is constructed having a solid inner member having a periphery with a groove therein. Covering both surfaces of the inner member are protective layers. A first wearable layer provides a non-scratch surface for contacting the tabletop and a second non-wearable layer provides a durable working surface. The two layers tuck into the groove, thereby providing a smooth covered edge to the table pad methods for making a table pad are also disclosed.
