摘要： Disclosed herein is a pigment ink comprising self-dispersing type carbon black to the surface of which at least one hydrophilic group is bonded through another atomic group, an aqueous medium, and a silicon compound. The pigment ink can form images excellent in fastness properties such as water fastness and light fastness and character quality, can be efficiently ejected when applied to ink-jet recording and can also be stably ejected from a recording head irrespective of recording head and printing environment.

摘要： An ink comprise a dye, a silicon-containing surfactant, an ethylene oxide adduct of acetylene glycol and a liquid medium, wherein a weight ratio of the silicon-containing surfactant to the ethylene oxide adduct of acetylene glycol is not lower than {fraction (1/5000)}, but lower than {fraction (1/20)}. An ink-jet recording process include the step of ejecting the ink by an ink-jet system. An ink set include in combination a first dye having a certain color tone, and a second dye ink having a color tone different from that of the first dye ink, wherein at least one of the first and second dye inks is the above ink. An ink set include dye inks of yellow, magenta and cyan, wherein the dye inks include an ethylene oxide adduct of acetylene glycol respectively, and the dye inks of magenta and cyan further have a silicon-containing surfactant.

摘要： An ink set which comprises a black ink containing an aqueous medium and a pigment dispersed in the aqueous medium by an action of an ionic group, and at least two color inks each containing a coloring material and an aqueous medium, wherein (i) respective images formed with the respective color inks have the same &Dgr;E or have the difference in &Dgr;E that is 10 or less in a CIELAB color space display system in a fading test under conditions that cause fading corresponding to pseudo-indoor sunlight fading through a window for 3 years or more, and (ii) at least one of the color inks contains at least one of a coloring material and an additive that destabilize dispersion stability of the pigment in the black ink. The ink set can provide a high quality multicolor image keeping color balance after long preservation and showing less bleeding between black and color regions.
