    摘要: Disclosed are a reflective and transflective liquid crystal display device and its manufacturing method, which can raise light efficiency by removing a depressed part in a reflective device without forming a capacitor contact hole in a storage capacitor. The reflective liquid crystal display device includes: a plurality of gate lines and data lines intersecting on a first substrate, the gate line and the data line defining pixel areas; a thin film transistor formed at the intersection of the gate line and the data line, the thin film transistor including a gate electrode, a semiconductor layer, a source electrode and a drain electrode; a capacitor lower electrode of a storage capacitor formed on the same plane as the gate line; an capacitor upper electrode formed integrally with the drain electrode on the capacitor lower electrode; a first insulation film inserted between the capacitor upper electrode and the capacitor lower electrode; and a thin film transistor array substrate connected with the drain electrode and including the reflective electrode formed at the pixel area.

    摘要: A semitransparent reflective type liquid crystal display device is disclosed which comprises: first and second substrates facing to each other and sandwiching a liquid crystal layer therebeween; a backlight on an outer surface of the first substrate; an uneven layer being on an inner surface of the first substrate and having an uneven surface; a reflecting electrode being along the uneven surface and having a transparent portion substantially facing in a main viewing angle direction which is defined as a direction where the user's eye is mainly positioned. The transparent portion is in the inclined surface facing in the main viewing angle direction. Accordingly, when operating as a reflective type LCD, the quantity of the main external light which is incident on the transparent portion is decreased to improve the light reflectance.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a method for cutting a liquid crystal display panel and a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display panel having a desired size using the same. In a method for cutting a liquid crystal display panel which includes an upper panel to which a color filter is formed and a lower filter on which a thin film transistor is formed, the upper panel and the lower panel are respectively cut in such a way that a cut edge of the upper panel is outwardly protruded from a cut edge of the lower panel so that a step is formed at a cut surface between the upper panel and the lower panel. Since the cut edge of the upper panel is upwardly protruded from the cut edge of the lower panel, electrodes, signal lines, thin film transistors of the lower panel can be prevented from being damaged by the contact with the dispenser or by the pressure of the sprayed sealant while the sealant is formed after the cutting.

    摘要: A reflective-type liquid crystal display device is disclosed which comprises first and second substrates; a metal layer having a convex-concave surface over the insulating layer; a &lgr;/4 phase retardation optical film over the second substrate. The convex portion of the metal has a long width in a first direction perpendicular to the main viewing angle direction of the user. Polarization direction of the polarizer is at 90° with respect to the first direction, and slow axis of the optical film is at 45° with respect to the polarization direction. This reflective-type LCD has a high reflective luminance in the main viewing angle direction. Further, because TE(transverse electric) polarized light is incident on the metal transverse electric, the reflective luminance is much more improved.
