摘要: There are provided an optical fiber ribbon and optical fiber cable which suppress the deterioration of polarization mode dispersion and contribute to the increase of communication capacity in wavelength division multiplexing. An optical fiber ribbon includes a plurality of optical fibers 12 tied in a bundle and a ribbon coating layer 13 formed around the plurality of optical fibers to integrate the plurality of optical fibers, wherein the glass-transition temperature of the coating ranges from 80° C. to 130° C. and “a” is 0.01 mm2 or less, where “a” is a sectional area of the ribbon coating layer 13 in a cross section in which outer half of the optical fiber at an edge of the ribbon and the coating of the optical fiber ribbon are taken along a line passing the center of the glass optical fiber positioned at one of edges of the ribbon out of the plurality of the optical fibers and being perpendicular to the horizontal plane of the optical fiber ribbon.

摘要: The present invention provides an optical fiber which can have a larger NA and a preferable mechanical strength even with a monolayer coating and can be fabricated at low cost, and which can transmit excitation light efficiently reducing a loss even under a high temperature environment during the operation of a fiber laser. An optical fiber according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a core, a glass cladding which is provided at a periphery of the core and has a refractive index smaller than the core, and a polymer cladding which is provided at a periphery of the glass cladding and has a refractive index smaller than the glass cladding. The polymer cladding contains fluorine and the polymer cladding has a difference between an elasticity modulus at 60° C. and that at 23° C. equal to or smaller than 100 MPa and also has an elasticity modulus equal to or larger than 200 MPa at 23° C.

The optical fiber of the present invention is an optical fiber which has a glass optical fiber which has a core 1, which passes an optical signal, in a center portion, and a cladding 2 surrounding this, a primary protective layer 3 made to coat the glass optical fiber, a secondary protective layer 4 applied on this primary protective layer 3, and a third protective layer 5 applied to an outer periphery of this secondary protective layer 4, wherein glass transition temperature of the primary protective layer 3 is made to be higher than −20° C. and 10° C. or lower, glass transition temperature of the secondary protective layer 4 is made to be −10° C. or less, and the glass transition temperature of the primary protective layer 3 is set higher than that of the secondary protective layer 4.

摘要: Certain embodiments of the invention may include systems and methods for providing optical fiber coatings to reduce microbend losses. According to an example embodiment of the invention, a method is provided for coating an optical fiber to reduce microbend losses and polarization mode dispersion (PMD). The method includes applying a primary layer to the optical fiber, wherein the optical fiber comprises a core region surrounded by a cladding region. The method includes applying a secondary layer to the primary layer, and curing the primary and secondary layers, wherein the cured primary layer adheres to the cladding region with a minimum pullout adhesion of 6 N/cm, and the cured secondary layer has an in situ modulus of about 700 MPa to about 1200 MPa at room temperature.

Moreover, it is desirable for the thermo conductive molding body to have a compressive strength of which a peak value is between ten and thirty N/cm2 and a stabilized value is between three and ten N/cm2. Furthermore, it is desirable for the thermo conductive molding body to have the thermal conductivity to be higher than or equal to 1.0 W/mK and to have the Asker C hardness to be between twenty-five and forty.
