摘要： The conventional method of limiting the number of receiving apparatus has a problem that if the limited number of appliances is reduced to limit distribution to unspecified appliances outside a home, distribution to appliances in the home is limited unnecessarily. If the limited number of appliances is increased, distribution to appliances outside the home cannot be sufficiently limited. The invention provides at least one receiving apparatus, (e.g., digital television sets and PCs,) connected to a network and capable of receiving and using predetermined data, and a transmitting apparatus, (e.g., an AV server) for transmitting the data to the receiving apparatus via the network. Use of the data on the network is managed based on the transmission time required for transmission of predetermined information between the transmitting apparatus and the receiving apparatus.

摘要： To provide a packet transmitter apparatus which can transmit contents protected by a content protection technique such as DTCP or the like, using packets such as IP packets which have become widespread. The packet transmitter apparatus includes a transmitting condition setting management unit (404) which extracts at least one of charge information, playback control information and copy control information of AV data from the inputted non-AV data or AV data and generates, based on the extracted information, encryption mode information indicating an encryption mode which becomes a condition at the time of transmitting the AV data; an encrypted data generation unit (406) which generates encrypted data by encrypting, based on the transmitting condition, the inputted AV data and adding encryption information headers based on the encryption mode information to the encrypted AV data; and a packet generation unit (403) which generates packets by adding packet headers to the generated encrypted data. The transmitting condition is to be determined as a combination of input terminal information, data format information and attribute information.

摘要： The conventional data transmitting/receiving system has problems: that a correct measurement cannot be performed because a measurement result is an addition of a verification processing time and a transmission time; that an authentication processing which is necessary for a transmission time measurement processing needs to be separately required; and that an unnecessary key exchange processing is executed. The transmission apparatus (a) shares authentication information with a request source which requests for transmission of content data, (b) transmits, to the request source, a measurement request generated using the authentication information, (c) receives, from the request source, a measurement response generated using the authentication information by the request source, as a response to the measurement request, (d) measures the period of time from the transmission of the measurement request to the reception of the measurement response, as a round trip time, (e) transmits, to the request source, a measurement preparation request for a preparation which is necessary for generating the measurement response, before the transmission of the measurement request, and (f) determines that the request source is an eligible device as the transmission destination of the content data, after the measurement of the round trip time, in the case where it is confirmed that the round trip time is less than or equal to a reference value, the measurement response is verified as a correct response, and the measurement request is verified as a correct request by the request source.

摘要： A color television system conversion apparatus converts a television signal of a first television system into a television signal of a second television system by converting the carrier frequency of the chrominance signal of the first television system into the carrier frequency of the second television system. The carrier frequency converted chrominance signal is converted into a digital signal in response to the clock of the carrier frequency of the second television system. The digital chrominance signal is digitally decoded into two color difference signals of the first color television system. The two decoded color difference signals are converted so as to have the number of lines and the number of fields of the second television system through extraction and interpolation processes. The converted color difference signals are encoded digitally into a luminance signal of the second television system.
