摘要： The reproduction of a copy inhibit image and the abuse of data through a network are to be prevented without sacrificing various page editing functions. An image read unit scans an original placed on an original carrying table and thereby generates RGB color image signals of multi-value. An image processing unit performs various image processing and, upon detection of a copy inhibit original, performs image working for preventing faithful reproduction of the copy inhibit original. An image storing unit temporarily stores page by page original images provided from the image processing unit. If a copy inhibit image is contained in the original images, the image working is performed by the image processing unit to prevent faithful reproduction and the images after the image working are stored in the image storing unit. An image output unit performs a printing operation in accordance with image data outputted from the image processing unit.

摘要： An image processing apparatus includes an image reception unit, a determination unit, a display unit, a correction accepting unit and a criterion modifying unit. The image reception unit receives a plurality of images. The determination unit determines whether each image received by the image reception unit corresponds to a separator image that represents a separator of a document based on a criterion and outputs a detection result. The display unit displays the detection result output by the determination unit. The correction accepting unit accepts correction of the displayed detection result in accordance with an operation performed by a user. The criterion modifying unit modifies the criterion based on the accepted correction. The determination unit re-determines whether each image received by the image reception unit corresponds to the separator image based on the criterion after the criterion is modified by the criterion modifying unit.

The image capturing section captures at least a part of a target image, which includes a plurality of marker images and a recognition target range defined by the plurality of marker images, to acquire a captured image. 摘要： An image processing apparatus captures a target image containing marker images and a recognition target range identified by a marker-image set including at least parts of the marker images. The image processing apparatus includes an image capturing section, a first detection section, a position estimation section and a second detection section. The first detection section detects one marker image as a reference marker image from a captured image. The position estimation section adopts a marker image, which is other than the reference marker image and is contained in at least one of marker-image sets containing the reference marker image, as a corresponding marker image. The position estimation section estimates a position of the corresponding marker image in the captured image based on a size of the detected reference marker image. The second detection section detects the corresponding marker image based on the estimated position of the corresponding marker image.

摘要： An image processing system and method is presented which is capable of maintaining a high line count while preventing the generation of low-frequency periodic structures, using the supertiling method for image output devices such as printers. Threshold value matrix patterns are used for each supertile, and the input image data is compared with the threshold value. A dot pattern (binary image data) is generated based on the result of the comparison. Each supertile is divided up into a plurality (3.times.3) of halftone cells, and a dot pattern is generated for each halftone cell. A plurality of threshold value matrix patterns P1-P10 having identical shapes is used, and the pattern to be applied is selected randomly. This results in unevenness in the "centers of gravity" of the dots in the halftone cells. Thus, no periodic structures appear.
