摘要: Personalizing a multipage security document by placing a laser-alterable ink layer on a personalization area of an edge of each of the sequence of pages. The method includes revealing a portion of the personalization area of each of the sequence of pages relative to a pages above said each of the sequence of pages such that the personalization portion of each two consecutive pages in said sequence of pages are located adjacent to one another thereby producing a two-dimensional multi-page personalization section, and creating a pattern on the two-dimensional multi-page personalization section by altering the inked personalization area in the revealed portion of each page of said sequence of pages by exposing said revealed portions to a laser, such that a pattern is visible when the revealed portions of a sequence of pages are viewed simultaneously.

摘要: An inlay sheet for a book-like identification document. The inlet sheet may include a first hinge layer comprising polycarbonate and a second hinge layer comprising a flexible material different to polycarbonate, e.g. PET, polyurethane, fabric, mesh. The second hinge layer is attached to the first hinge layer. A first datapage layer and a second datapage layer are attached to the first hinge layer and the second hinge layer, respectively, such that the first and second hinge layers are positioned between the first and second datapage layers for forming a datapage section having a datapage thickness. The first and second datapage layers form a common datapage inner front edge and the first and second hinge layers extend beyond the common datapage inner front edge such that a hinge section is formed having a hinge thickness smaller than the datapage thickness.

摘要: A method for determining the authenticity of an identity document is provided that includes capturing, by an electronic device, image data of an identity document. The identity document has a first side and a second side. The image data includes an image of the first side and an image of the second side. The first side includes data about a person associated with the identity document and second side includes a PDF417 barcode which has features. The method also includes determining a class of the identity document. The features of the PDF417 barcode adhere to criteria established for the determined class of the identity document. Moreover, the method includes analyzing the features of the PDF417 barcode for anomalies. In response to determining the features of the PDF417 barcode are free of anomalies, the identity document is determined to be authentic. Otherwise, the identity document is determined to be fraudulent.

摘要: Some implementations provide a machine-assisted method for screening a person, the method including: receiving, at a scanning device, an identification document presented by the person, the identification document showing a machine-readable code that encodes personally identifiable information of the person, a biometric of the person, and printed information; scanning the machine-readable code on the identification document to extract personally identifiable information of the person; comparing the extracted personally identifiable information against records stored at a database; determining that the extracted personal identifiable information matches a record stored at the database; receiving data encoding the biometric of the person on the identification document for comparison with the person presenting the identification document; receiving a determination that the biometric from the identification document identifies the person presenting the identification document; and determining whether the identification document is digitally watermarked to identify payload data.
