    摘要: A double-sided electroluminescent device emits light from its both sides and has a symmetrically laminated structure. The materials of the insulating layers and the binder of the phosphor layer are the same. The insulating layers and transparent insulating frame form a sealing box to encapsulate the phosphor layer. The bus bars are disposed oppositely in symmetry with respective to the symmetrical plane and a vertical axis of the device. The refractive index of the out most reinforcement layer is higher than that of the substrates.

    摘要: A thin-film magnetic recording disc for use with a read/write head in a disc drive includes a substrate, a magnetic recording film disposed over the substrate, and a protective overcoat on the recording film. The recording disc has an outer layer that includes a solid fluorocarbon and a perfluoropolyether (PFPE) oil. The disc can be used as a data storage media for a digital computer and, in particular, with a read/write head in a disc drive. The addition of the fluorocarbon layer can improve the tribology of the disc, thereby reducing wear and improving the long-term performance of the magnetic disc.

    摘要: A fabrication method for a thallium-doped GRIN lens composed of a simplified glass composition is described. The composition is composed of silicon, oxygen, boron, zinc, potassium, sodium, and thallium. The method is comprised of preparing a cylindrical preform, annealing the cylindrical preform, removing contaminants from preform thereafter extruded to form a glass rod, exposing the glass rod to an alkali salt bath, and chemically milling the glass rod within an acid bath. Method and composition produce colorless lenses with a refractive index from 1.5900 to 1.7810, an insertion loss no greater than 0.05 dB, and a chromatic transmittance greater than 90 percent.

    摘要: Structures, deposition systems and deposition processes related generally to a solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) are provided. A nanometer to submicron laminar structure of LaxSryMnOz is used as an interconnect layer or interface layer between a cathode and an electrolyte for the SOFCs. The SOFC includes a cathode layer, an interface layer coupled to the cathode layer, and an electrolyte coupled to the interface layer. The interface layer includes a plurality of first layers characterized by a first density interleaved with a plurality of second layers characterized by a second density. The first density is lower than the second density. Furthermore, one of the plurality of the first layers is coupled to the cathode layer. Moreover, one of the plurality of the second layers is coupled to the electrolyte. The laminar structure of LaxSryMnOz has been applied to the SOFCs to reduce performance degradation in the SOFCs.
