Abstract: A backlight module includes a first surface light source assembly, a second surface light source assembly disposed above the first surface light source assembly, a first optical film disposed above the second surface light source assembly and including a plurality of prisms arranged along a first direction, and a light filter element disposed between the first and second surface light source assemblies. Both of the first surface light source assembly and the second surface light source assembly include a light emitting unit and a light guide plate. Each prism has a tip end facing the second surface light source assembly. The light filter element is configured to allow an incident light ray within a predetermined range of incident angle to pass therethrough. The backlight module can be switched between a narrow viewing angle mode and a wide viewing angle mode. Related driving method and display apparatus are also provided.

Abstract: A viewing angle switchable display apparatus including a display panel, an electrically controlled viewing angle switching device, an electrically controlled light scattering switching device, and a backlight module is provided. The electrically controlled viewing angle switching device includes two first transparent substrates, two first transparent conductive layers, a liquid crystal layer, and a first polarizer located on a side of the electrically controlled viewing angle switching device which is far away from the display panel. The liquid crystal layer includes liquid crystal molecules, and optical axes of the liquid crystal molecules are parallel or perpendicular to a transmission axis of the first polarizer. The electrically controlled light scattering switching device is located between the display panel and the backlight module and includes two second transparent substrates, two second transparent conductive layers, and an electronically controlled polymer material layer.

Abstract: A light source module including a first backlight module, a second backlight module, a turning film, and a first absorptive polarizer film is provided. The first backlight module has a first side and a second side. The first backlight module includes a first light guide plate (LGP) having a first light incident surface and a first light source disposed beside the first light incident surface. The second backlight module is arranged at the second side. The second backlight module includes a second LGP having a second light incident surface and a second light source disposed beside the second light incident surface. The turning film is arranged at the first side. The turning film includes a plurality of reverse prisms. The reverse prisms extend along an extension direction. The first absorptive polarizer film is disposed between the first backlight module and the second backlight module. A display device is also provided.
