摘要: An authority limit management method is proposed for a digital media storage. The digital media storage includes at least one micro processor and at least one memory unit and connected to an access device. A classification authorization code index (CAC index) and a plurality of classification operation commands (COC) is pre-stored in the digital media storage and an identification code is set for the access device. The classification operation commands is performed to calculate a classification authorization code when the digital media storage is connected to the access device for initial transmission protocol. The authority limit of the memory unit for the access device is granted to the access device according to the classification authorization code. Therefore, the data of the digital media storage can be prevented from illegal copy or hacker.

摘要: A memory apparatus and method for protecting the memory apparatus are provided. The memory apparatus includes a memory unit, a memory control unit, a switch and a control circuit. The memory control unit is used for reading from or writing to the memory unit and has a build-in protection unit. The switch has a lock end and a normal end. The control circuit is coupled between the switch and the memory control unit and is used for detecting the position of the switch. Once the switch is switched to the lock end and the memory apparatus receives a working voltage, the protection unit is automatically enabled by the control circuit to inhibit the memory control unit from reading data from or writing data to the memory unit.

摘要: To provide an integrated circuit with functionality under environment with temperature lower than a working condition, the integrated circuit is designed to include a heating element incorporated with signal pins on a carrier, such as a lead frame, that supports a chip die and controlled by a heating control unit to increase temperature of the chip die. The heating control unit provides voltage for the heating element when a detecting unit detects that the temperature of the chip die falls below a predetermined temperature and a power control unit provide operation power for the chip die when the temperature of the chip die detected by the detecting unit reaches or falls above the predetermined temperature.

摘要: An embodiment of the invention provides a data storage device and data management method thereof. The data storage device is coupled to a host, and includes a storage media having data sectors for storing data and a controller. The controller is coupled to the storage media for sequentially receiving one or more read commands and corresponding one or more logical addresses thereto, reads a plurality of first data sectors from the storage media according to the read commands and the corresponding logical addresses, outputs data of the first data sectors to the host, calculates a valid duration required for the one or more read commands, calculates an average data throughput according to the number of the first data sectors and the valid duration, and determines whether the average data throughput exceeds a predetermined threshold. When the average data throughput exceeds the predetermined threshold, the controller performs a blocking procedure to prevent the storage media from being accessed.

摘要: In order to correct errors of a first page on one plane in a two-plane NAND flash memory, use data of a second page on another plane to mix the encoding and leverage the error correction code of the first page. Each of the error correction codes of the first page and the second page is divided into an inner correction code and a cross correction code. The inner correction codes are used to correct errors of their own pages and the cross correction codes are used to correct errors of two distinct groups, grouped from the even and odd bytes of the two pages respectively. The second page, with fewer errors, is therefore used to enhance the correcting ability of the first page, without lengthening the error correction code of the first page.

Once the first voltage detecting unit detects that the first working voltage of the control unit is abnormal, the logic gate outputs a first write protect signal to notify the control unit and control the memory units to enter a write protect mode. 摘要: A data backup method for a flash memory module is provided. The flash memory module includes a plurality of flash memory units. In the data backup method, a controller is first provided to receive a backup function enabling signal. The controller then configures the flash memory units according to the backup function enabling signal such that at least one of the flash memory units is configured as a backup storage area and the flash memory units that are not in the backup storage area are configured as a main storage area. The controller then checks and receives an updated status of important data in the main storage area and backs up the important data into the backup storage area according to the updated status. Accessing to the backup storage area and accessing to the main storage area by the controller are independent.

摘要: A reciprocating plug detector is configured at the connector of a portable device and is pushed to generate a control signal when the portable device is plugged into a host system. A controller of the portable device then performs a command when receiving the control signal. When the portable device is unplugged from the host system, the reciprocating plug detector may also be used for generating the control signal and before the portable device totally leaves the host system, the controller performs other pre-defined command during these few milliseconds. The portable device is implemented with a variety of computer controllability and provided with power-failure protection for data.
