    摘要: A method for assigning orthogonal codes used for a first system and a second system in a CDMA system including channels of the first system for spreading a pilot signal, a sync signal, a paging signal and a traffic signal with a first set of orthogonal codes corresponding to orthogonal code numbers in different rows from a set of orthogonal codes arranged in a matrix of m rows and m columns, and channels of the second system for spreading a second set of orthogonal codes corresponding to orthogonal code numbers different from said orthogonal code numbers for the first set of orthogonal codes. The orthogonal codes for the second system are transmitted at a data rate higher than a data rate of the first system. The method comprises the steps of: assigning orthogonal codes corresponding to the orthogonal code numbers of the orthogonal code set associated with at least one of 2n rows to the channels of the first system, wherein a set of the orthogonal codes are arranged in a matrix of subsets of orthogonal codes and inversed orthogonal codes, each subset including 2n rows and 2n columns; and assigning orthogonal codes corresponding to the orthogonal code numbers of the orthogonal code set associated with at least one of the remaining rows to the second system.

    摘要: A noise power measuring system and method for a base station receiver are disclosed. In the system and method, a received signal is despread and the noise power of the despread received signal is estimated. An orthogonal code generator generates a noise power measurement orthogonal code, which is orthogonal to all the orthogonal codes presently being used by the mobile station. A correlator connected to the orthogonal code generator performs a correlation operation between the noise power measurement orthogonal code and the despread received signal. A noise power measurer connected to the correlator, measures the noise power from the output of the correlator.

A base station sync code transmission device comprises a primary sync code transmitter and a secondary sync code transmitter. The primary sync code transmitter is for generating and then transmitting a primary sync code at a first location in a transmission frame. The primary sync code is for acquiring synchronization at a starting point of a frame and the frame is equal to one period of a spreading code. The secondary sync codes are assigned to base station groups, one to a group. A mobile station sync code receiving device comprises a primary sync code acquisition decider and a base station group decider. The primary sync code acquisition decider is for acquiring a primary sync code received at a first location in a frame, and then acquiring synchronization at a starting point of a frame. The base station group decider is enabled upon acquisition of the primary sync code, receives a secondary sync code transmitted at a second location in the frame, and then determines the base station group to which the transmitting base station belongs.

    摘要: A device and method for continuous outer-loop power control on a physical channel which transmits only power control bits and no data while in discontinuous transmission (DTX) mode in a CDMA mobile communication system is disclosed. In the power controlling device according to one aspect of the present invention, a frame error detector detects an error from a frame of predetermined length and generates an error signal indicating whether an error has been generated. A closed-loop power controller compares a threshold with the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in each power control group (PCG) in a plurality of periods of the frame and generates power control information according to the comparison result. An outer-loop power controller increases the threshold in order to generate power control information that commands a power increase in response to an error signal indicating the existence of a frame error, and decreases the threshold in order to generate power control information that commands a power decrease in response to an error signal indicating the absence of a frame error. An offset controlling unit, which is connected to the outer-loop power controller, receives gating information about the gated transmission of data in a frame at a predetermined rate, and generates an offset signal, which indicates an offset corresponding to a changed gating rate if the gating rate is changed.

In the forward link device, four encoders encode input data of corresponding rates with a 1/3 coding rate, respectively. A first repeater repeats two times full rate symbols output from the first encoder, and second to fourth repeaters repeat symbols output from the second to fourth encoders, respectively, according to a predetermined number of times, to match the number of corresponding output symbols to the number of full rate symbols. First to fourth interleavers interleave the symbols output from the first to fourth repeaters, respectively, to uniformly distribute the symbols of the same data bit to the carriers.

    摘要: In a transmission device and method for a CDMA communication system, when a shorter frame message is generated during transmission of a longer frame message, the transmission of the longer frame message is interrupted, whereupon the shorter frame message is immediately transmitted in place of a portion of the longer frame message. In one embodiment, after the longer frame message is interrupted and the shorter frame message is transmitted, only the tail portion of the longer frame message is transmitted thereafter. That is, the replaced portion of the longer frame message is not transmitted following the shorter frame message transmission. In an alternative embodiment, following the shorter frame message transmission, the remainder of the longer frame message, from the point of interruption, is transmitted in its entirety. In the latter case, the longer frame message is delayed by the length of the shorter frame message.
