摘要： The present invention relates to an optical switch apparatus made to successively carry out the route switching with respect to frame signal light inputted through various paths while eliminating the dispersion of an output power value. In the optical switch apparatus, input side deflecting units are disposed in corresponding relation to a plurality of input ports and output side deflecting units are disposed in corresponding relation to a plurality of output ports. Each input side deflecting unit and each output side deflecting unit are constructed in a manner such that a plurality of optical deflecting elements made to deflect signal light in response to an electric field applied are arranged in a cascade fashion, and the optical deflecting element constituting the input side deflecting unit or the output side deflecting unit is made so as to variably adjust the level of signal light to be outputted from the output side deflecting unit to the output port.

摘要： Optical add/drop nodes are used in a network having a pair of optical transmission paths for transmitting optical signals in opposite directions to each other. Each add/drop node comprises a variable split ratio optical coupler for splitting an optical signal output from a transmitter. The split ratio of the variable split ratio optical coupler is set such that the optical power levels of the signals added through the respective optical add/drop nodes are equal to one another respectively on the pair of optical transmission paths.

摘要： Signal light with a specific wavelength is transmitted and extracted from signal light multiplexed by a WDM method, and a light detection unit detects the signal light detected by an optical tunable filter, whose wavelength transmission characteristic varies depending on a control signal. An operation circuit generates information for designating a control signal needed to enable the optical tunable filter to extract signal light with a designated wavelength, based on the detected results of two segments of signal light located at each edge of a wavelength band obtained by shifting the wavelength transmission characteristic of the optical tunable filter from outside the wavelength band including all segments of the entire WDM signal. A driving circuit generates a control signal according to the designation information.
