摘要： Oxalyl chloride is prepared by (i) first esterifying ethylene glycol with trichloroacetyl chloride, (ii) next photochemically chlorinating the ester which results from the step (i), i.e., ethylene glycol bis-trichloroacetate, and (iii) then decomposing the tetrachloroethylene glycol bis-trichloroacetate thus formed into the desired oxalyl chloride and trichloroacetyl chloride, said steps (i) and (iii) being conducted in the absence of any reaction solvent, other than the trichloroacetyl chloride, and the chlorination step (ii) being conducted at a temperature of from about 50.degree. to 200.degree. C.

摘要： Process for removing hydrochloric acid and other impurities which are contained in vinyl chloride monomer, by treatment in a distillation zone, comprising the addition to crude vinyl chloride, in the course of distillation thereof, of at least one alcohol selected from the group of C.sub.4 to C.sub.10 tertiary aliphatic alcohols and C.sub.3 to C.sub.10 primary or secondary alcohols with unsaturation in the alpha position, and rectifying the vinyl chloride monomer from the resulting mixture.
