    摘要: A side key assembly is mounted on a housing (60) which comprises a sidewall (610). A socket (62) is formed in the sidewall (610) of the housing. The side key assembly includes a button (70), two switches (80) and the socket. The button includes an operating portion (710), two touching blocks (740) and at least one elastic arm (750). The operating portion is slidingly received in the socket. One end of the at least one elastic arm connects with the operating portion while the other end is firmly fixed on the housing. Each switch includes a contact portion. Each contact portion is positioned adjacent to a corresponding touching block. Each switch is turned on when the corresponding touching block is moved to touch the contact portion thereof.

The refractor is mounted on the rotatable mechanism by adhering to or soldering on a groove (52) of the rotatable mechanism, wherein the rotatable mechanism mates with a through hole (46) of the holder to make the center of the refractor and the optical axis of input and output collimators (22, 32) of the input and output ports in line.

    摘要: An optical collimator (20) includes an optical fiber (21), a metal ferrule (22), a Graded Index (GRIN) lens (23) and an outer metal tube (24). The optical fiber has an exposed end (211) which is coated with metal. The exposed end of the optical fiber is inserted into the ferrule and laser welded thereto. The GRIN lens is also coated with metal. A plurality of soldering holes (241) is defined in a periphery of the outer tube. Solder is applied to the ferrule and the GRIN lens through the holes to firmly connect the outer tube, the ferrule and the GRIN lens together. After assembly, if the position of the GRIN lens or the optical fiber is found to be inaccurate, the GRIN lens and the ferrule can be easily resoldered.

The fiber optic terminal further defines a first passageway (121) and a second passageway (131). In assembly, the two optical fibers are received in the fiber optic terminal through the passageways to connect with optical components in the housing, and the fiber optic terminal is tightly received in the housing.

    摘要: An optical attenuator includes an input optical fiber (11) and an attenuating device (3). The attenuating device is a neutral density (ND) filter. The filter has a refractive index matching that of the input optical fiber, to reduce Fresnel reflectance between the attenuating device and a terminal of the input optical fiber. One surface of the ND filter is not perpendicular to an incident light beam, thus preventing multireflectance between the attenuating device and the terminal of the input optical fiber. Therefore, return loss is increased.

    摘要: An electrical connector in a portable telecommunication device with a built-in antenna to enable the device to connect with an external antenna, comprises a dielectric housing having a base portion defining first and second chambers communicating with each other via a passage, and a cylindrical portion defining a hole therethrough in communication with the first chamber, a first contact fixedly received in the first chamber and electrically connecting with speaker/receiver circuitry of the device and a second contact fixedly received in the second chamber and electrically connecting with the built-in antenna. When the connector does not connect with a mating connector in electrical connection with an external antenna, the first contact electrically engages with the second contact by a spring force generated from the first contact. When the connector is connected with a mating connector in connection with an external antenna by extending a conductive pin of the mating connector through the hole in the cylindrical portion into the first chamber, the pin engages with the first contact and prevents it from engagement with the second contact.
