Abstract: A workplace safety system includes an item of monitored equipment, a mobile communications device, and a scoring computing system. The item of monitored equipment includes a sensor, a transmitter, and a computing unit. The sensor is configured to generate signals. The computing unit is electrically coupled with each of the sensor and the transmitter. The mobile communications device is in wireless communication with the transmitter via a short-range communication protocol. The scoring computing system is in networked communication with the mobile communications device and is configured to receive data. The data includes an identity of an operator of the item of monitored equipment. A characteristic of operation is determined based upon the signals from the sensor and represents a manner by which the operator has used the item of monitored equipment. The scoring computing system is configured to generate a safety score associated with the operator. Methods are also provided.

Abstract: Hardened target sensors and systems are described herein. An example system includes a projectile defining an ogive, a body, and a base. The body of the projectile is arranged between the ogive and the base. The system includes a sensor assembly including a nose member and a plurality of strain gauges. The nose member defines a nose portion, a shaft, portion, and a threaded portion. The strain gauges are attached to the shaft portion. The system includes a shroud member, which is mechanically coupled with the sensor assembly and the body. The system further includes a smart fuze arranged within the body. The smart fuze is operably coupled to the strain gauges. The strain gauges measure the compression/tension of the shaft portion, which is part of the nose member. The load measured by the strain gauges can be used to detect hardened target layers and/or voids.

Abstract: A seal assembly for a container includes a locking assembly and a gateway. The locking assembly includes a body and an elongated cable. The elongated cable extends from a proximal end to a distal end. The proximal end is restrained by the body. The distal end is movable from an unlocked position spaced from the body to a locked position restrained by the body. The gateway is configured for selectively interlocking with the locking assembly. The gateway includes a power supply, a radio communication device, a sensor, and a processor electrically coupled therewith. The processor is configured to operate the radio communication device to transmit a first signal upon detection by the sensor of interlocking of the gateway with the locking assembly, and to transmit a second signal upon detection by the sensor that the elongated cable has been cut. Locking assemblies, gateways, devices and methods are also provided.

Abstract: A transducer assembly includes a ring wall, a first arm, a second arm, a magnet, and a Hall effect sensor. The ring wall defines a bore. The first and second arms are disposed within the bore and include first and second proximal and distal ends, respectively. The first and second proximal ends are coupled to and extend from first and second interior locations of the ring wall, respectively. The second interior location is spaced from the first interior location. The magnet is disposed within the bore and is fixedly coupled to the first arm. The Hall effect sensor is disposed within the bore and is fixedly coupled to the second arm. The Hall effect sensor is spaced from the magnet and is configured to detect movement of the magnet resulting from compression of the ring wall. Methods are also provided.

Abstract: A method for monitoring operation of an archery bow includes attaching an apparatus to a bow cord. The apparatus includes a processor, a monitoring device electrically coupled with the processor, a wireless communication module electrically coupled with the processor, and a power supply electrically coupled with each of the processor and the wireless communication module. The method further includes detecting, by the monitoring device, a tension of the bow cord. The method also includes generating, by the processor and based upon the detected tension of the bow cord, data concerning tension of the bow cord. The method further includes wirelessly transmitting, by the wireless communication module, the data to a remote computing device. The method also includes receiving, by the remote computing device, the data. The method also includes presenting, by the remote computing device and based upon the data, information to a user reflecting the detected tension.
