摘要： A disk for a ski pole is formed from four generally cloverleafshaped vanes mounted on a ring which is limitedly swivelable on the stem of the pole near its pointed lower end, the vanes being individually pivoted to that ring for swinging downwardly under a load of snow into a limiting position in which they may form a generally frustopyramidal structure. The vanes, when unloaded, may be retracted by a spring into a coplanar position perpendicular to the ring axis.

摘要： To enable a passenger to ride a "roller coaster" in a standing position, the inventive device includes a seat placed between the legs of the passenger, a back member with a headrest incorporated in it, and two harnesses which provide retention of the passenger from above as well as lateral retention of his head and good front and lateral retention of his body. One of the harnesses is movable and can be swung upwardly to enable easy access to the subject device by the passenger and to enable a ventral bar to be brought into tight contact with the passenger's abdomen before being locked shut in that position. Because the sliding carriage which bears the two harnesses, the back member and the seat are displaceable and lockable along the columns which have their base fixed to the chassis of the train, the present invention can accommodate passengers of different heights and sizes and reliably retain such passengers regardless of their orientation in space during the operation of the associated roller coaster.

摘要： A ski brake preventing free flight of the ski upon its inadvertent release from the ski boot comprises a U-shaped stirrup whose shanks straddle the longitudinal edges of the ski and are provided with braking elements and a pair of torsion rods connected to the shanks and received in a mounting retaining the surface of the stirrup on the ski. When the bight of the U-shaped member is held against the ski by the ski boot directly or a plate of the ski binding, the brake elements are swung upwardly to the upper surface of the ski and lie parallel to the longitudinal edges. When the stirrup is released the resilient action of the torsion rods rotates the stirrup into a position in which the brake elements project symmetrically transverse to the longitudinal edges and below the bottom surface of the ski to prevent free flight.
