摘要: Graphite-containing brass alloy billets having less than 0.25 wt. % lead and a method of manufacturing relating thereto are provided. The method includes forming a brass powder and mixing the brass powder with graphite and one or more binders. The brass powder contains copper and zinc and may be formed using water atomization. The brass-powder mixture is compacted to form an initial billet. The initial billet may be subjected to one or more heating treatments. A first heating treatment may be used to remove the one or more binders. An optional second heating treatment may be used to deoxidize the binder-free billet. An optional third heating treatment that includes applying a pressure may be used to densify the binder-free billet. A third heating treatment may sinter the compact to form the workable graphite-containing brass alloy billet.

The plug also includes a handle unitary with the cylindrical body that extends from the annular surface. The handle has a cylindrical inner surface that is coextensive with an interior surface of the cylindrical body and an outer surface that is coextensive with an exterior surface of the cylindrical body.

摘要: A method of producing a brass is disclosed. The alloy contains trace amounts of iron, manganese or aluminum. Phosphorous is added to a zinc, copper melt and combined with the iron, manganese and aluminum to form intermetallics. Additional phosphorous is added so the melt contains between about 0.08 to 0.15% phosphorous. A low lead brass alloy is provided. The alloy has tin in the range of 0.15% to 0.35%.

摘要: A refrigerant powered actuated ball valve for use in the fluid circuit of a refrigeration or air conditioning system which can be remotely controlled by a low amperage control signal is disclosed. The actuated ball valve harnesses the pressurized refrigerant from the fluid circuit in which it is installed as the primary power medium to actuate the valve. The valve includes actuation means with a manifold having an inlet port which is in constant fluid communication with a high-pressure side of the fluid circuit. Pressurized refrigerant supplied to the manifold is branched to a series of fluid channels running through the manifold. Exhaust port operators are mounted in conjunction with the manifold to connect the actuation means to the low-pressure side of the fluid circuit and to direct the flow of pressurized refrigerant to either an exhaust port or the manifold. A reciprocal member disposed within the manifold engages a pinion such that a linear displacement of the reciprocal member causes a corresponding angular displacement of the pinion member. Cycling of the ball valve between an opened position and a closed position is achieved when the pressurized refrigerant is applied to the reciprocal member thereby causing a stem operator on the ball valve to rotate.

摘要: A valve, such as a compressor or line service valve, for use in refrigeration or air conditioning fluid circuits having an improved flow for improved energy efficiency is disclosed. The valve incorporates a rotary ball member with a 90.degree. fluid passage diameter that is equal to or greater than the diameter of the fluid line that it services. Rotation of a primary actuator stem rotates the ball member to open and close the valve. An annular ball seal provides a seat against which the ball may be positively sealed. A secondary stem is aligned on an alternate axis from the primary stem that is preferably collinear with a fluid line. The secondary stem effectuates a positive engagement between the rotary ball member and the ball seal. A plunger cooperates with locator indentations and a groove in the rotary ball member to center the ball within the valve and align its fluid passage with fluid line connectors. Locator indentations also ensure that the rotary ball member is properly oriented when in either the opened or closed positions. When the secondary stem is engaged, it effectuates a positive shut-off force to seal the ball member against the ball seal.

摘要: A connection joint for coupling a pair of conduits. The connection joint includes a tubular body having an inlet end and an outlet end that are each configured for receipt of a respective conduit therein. A first membrane seal is located within the tubular body and spaced apart from the inlet end, and a second membrane seal is located within the tubular body and spaced apart from the outlet end. The first and second membrane seals each have a bulbous portion located proximate the inlet end and outlet end, respectively, a tubular sleeve unitary with the bulbous portion located away from the inlet end and outlet end, respectively, and a plurality of radially inwardly extending ribs.
