摘要: The end portions of a rotary shell forming part of a calendar roll can be heated or cooled by a suitable (gaseous or hydraulic) fluid which is admitted into axially parallel first channels of the shell. Such channels can extend from end face to end face of the shell or only in the region of one end face each. The first channels receive the fluid from second channels which extend radially inwardly to the internal surface of the shell, and spent fluid is admitted into third channels which extend from the respective first channels to the internal surface of the shell. The first channels accommodate axially adjustable throttles which are used to regulate the rate of fluid flow in the shell and to thus regulate the temperature of the respective end portions of the shell.

摘要: The press section of a papermaking machine for dewatering a paper web comprises two separate, successively arranged extended nip press locations. Both of the extended nip press locations contain at least one respective felt which travels together with the paper web through the associated extended nip press location. The paper web is guided from the first extended nip press location to a web removal device contacted by an upper felt of the second extended nip press location, and from that location the paper web can move to the second extended nip press location.

摘要: Heat protection hood for heated rolls (1) in particular for rapidly running rolls (1) in paper machines which are partly surrounded by the heat protection hood. In this arrangement an outer screen (7) is arranged partly around the roll (1) and is concentric to it. The outer screen (7) and a likewise concentrically extending partition screen (4) present between it and the roll (1) form an inner gap (5) and an outer gap (6). Respective deflection zones (9) for the air flow drawn along by the roll (1) in the inner gap (5) adjoin each of the ends of the partition screen (4). Deflecting units (10, 11) are provided there so as to deflect the recirculating air flow around the ends of the partition screen (4). The invention is intended to substantially reduce heat losses through radiation and convection and offers the possibility of influencing the axial temperature profile of the roll (1).

摘要: The ledge is arranged transverse to the machine direction in a substantially flexure resistant manner and is adjustable for guiding the wires between which a web of material is formed. The ledge contains a guide surface which faces the wires and has a special contour. For improved control of the pressure changes occurring in the region of the ledge, the ledge contains a supporting member and a pressing member which contains the guide surface. A pressing device is supported at the supporting member and the pressing member can be adjusted in a direction relative to the wires as well as relative to the supporting member by using the pressing device for simultaneously elevating the pressing member and inclining the pressing member with respect to the machine direction. Advantageously the pressing device constitutes a hose which is subjected to a pressurizing medium and thereby deformable. The hose is at least partially imbedded into the supporting member such that its deformation causes movement of the pressing member. For simultaneously inclining the pressing member during such movement, a connecting member is provided between the pressing member and the supporting member. The ledge permits the adjustment of optimum pressures along a sheet forming zone whereby the sheet formation is improved.

摘要: Support components or supports for supporting calender rolls for treating web-shaped materials comprise walls which surround a roll stand of the calender and are slidably arranged at guideways provided at the roll stand. Each support component supports an associated calender roll having a predetermined diameter, and a predetermined support length of each support component in a predetermined direction of the guideways is greater than the predetermined diameter of the associated calender roll. The walls of adjacent support components define a predetermined numbr of pairs of mutually facing edges. At least one pair of mutually facing edges between two adjacent support components contains projections and complementary shaped recesses. When such two adjacent support components are slidably displaced toward one another, the projections extend into the correspondingly structured complementary shaped recesses. By virtue of the predetermined support length of the support components being greater than the average predetermined roll diameter, there is substantially prevented a canting or jamming of the support components during displacement thereof along the guideways.

摘要: The apparatus comprises a work surface heated by a heat carrier medium and located upon a heat-conducting layer carried by a metallic base body. The base body is provided with grooves at its surface confronting the heat-conducting layer and/or this heat-conducting layer is provided at its surface confronting the base body with grooves. The work surface is heated by infeeding the heat carrier medium into the grooves. To influence heat transfer to the heat-conducting layer carrying the work surface, particularly to a sheet metal plating or the like, for instance a cylinder jacket seated in direct metallic contact or only through the intermediate disposition of a transition layer of good thermal conductivity, upon the base body, there are provided control means regulating heat conduction from the base body to the heat-conducting layer and/or from the heat carrier medium guided in the grooves to the base body or the heat-conducting layer. This is accomplished by advantageously designing the confronting surfaces of the base body and heat-conducting layer, to possess recesses or supplementary grooves, different roughenings of the base body surface, additional lengthwise and/or transverse grooves in the base body surface or in the surface of the heat-conducting layer confronting the base body surface, or insulation strips.

摘要: The invention shows an improvement in the lubrication of bearings and shaft seals of screw compressors for refrigerants with oils soluble in refrigerants. A typical application results, for example, for ammonia with polyalkylene glycol soluble therein. Due to the fact that a partial oil flow is taken out of the oil flow returned to the screw compressor at an intermediate pressure prior to a pressure reduction to nearly suction pressure of the compressor and conveyed via a vapor separation container, substantial proportions of the dissolved refrigerant can be fed in at an intermediate pressure connection on the compression path of the screw compressor. Correspondingly more advantageous are the lubrication properties of the remaining partial oil flow at the lubrication connection, and the disadvantages of pressure collapse or foam conveyance at an oil pump are absent, since no oil pump is required with a suitable intermediate pressure.

摘要: An apparatus for the comminution of suspended fibre materials is described in which the fibre material is led through milling gaps which are formed between rotor and stator surfaces occupied with milling tools. The rotor which is floatingly journalled at one end has two conical surfaces equipped with milling tools, with the conical surfaces cooperating with complementary counter surfaces of fixed location which are likewise equipped with milling tools to form radially spaced apart milling gaps which extend substantially over the same axial range, or axially sequential conical milling gaps which enlarge in diameter towards the center of the rotor.
