    摘要: A moisture removal system having a crop drying enclosure for holding a crop product to be dried. A closed loop air circulation system is provided which includes a moisture removal enclosure for removing moisture from circulating air along with air ducting operatively connecting the moisture removal enclosure to the crop drying enclosure air inlet to form a closed loop moisture removal air system. A heat pump system, including a compressor, a first heat exchanger capable of operation as a condenser, along with two additional heat exchangers, each capable of operating as either a condenser or evaporator are positioned within the moisture removal enclosure, to remove excess moisture from the circulating air without the addition or extraction of heat from the ambient air temperature.

    摘要: An industrial plant such as a disc dryer is constructed or retro-fitted with discs each comprising two annular plates connected to one another around their outer edges, each plate comprising one or more integral ribs extending between its inner edge and outer edge. The integral ribs may comprise folds in the annular plates, and each plate may be formed from a length of sheet material, by roll forming for example, so that the integral ribs are deeper towards the inner peripheral edge than the outer peripheral edge of the annular plates forming the disc.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for extracting water. The apparatus comprises a first and second cooling device and a controller. The first cooling device has a first and second side. The first side heats materials located at the first side and generates a water vapor. The second side cools the water vapor and fluids collected from a source. The second cooling device transfers heat from the water vapor and the fluids flowing through the second cooling device to an environment around the second cooling device. A controller controls a first amount of power delivered to the first cooling device and a second amount of power delivered to the second cooling device based on a temperature for the fluids and the water vapor at an output. Water extracted from the fluids and the water vapor by cooling the fluids and the water vapor is collected at the output.

    摘要: Methods and systems are provided for drying wet biosolids to produce a class A biosolids. Generally described, the method of treating biosolids includes drying a wet biosolids in an indirect dryer to produce a partially dried biosolids and drying the partially dried biosolids in a direct dryer in series with and downstream of the indirect dryer to produce a class A biosolids. The indirect dryer and direct dryer may be operated at an average temperature of greater than about 100° C. and may have a total combined residence time of less than about 60 minutes. Also provided are systems for drying wet biosolids including an indirect biosolids dryer and a direct biosolids dryer in series. The methods and systems are particularly effective at reducing the moisture content of the biosolids from greater than 85% to less than 10% by weight.
