    摘要: An exit device that includes a locking mechanism for locking and unlocking a door, the locking mechanism having a latch bolt, and a link connected to the latch bolt, movement of the link between locked and unlocked positions causes movement of the latch bolt between an extended state and a retracted state to lock and unlock the door, and a motor operably connected to the link. A method of operating the exit device includes operating the motor to move the link in a first direction toward the unlocked position, the motor being operated until the link reaches a hard stop position; thereafter determining a soft stop position based on the hard stop position; and thereafter selectively using the motor to move the link in the first direction toward the unlocked position, the motor being operated only until the link reaches the soft stop position.

    摘要: A dogging device for securing a panic exit and actuation device in an unlatched condition. The dogging device uses a U-shaped spring clip to secure a base plate, a dogging adapter and a dogging hook together. The base plate, dogging adapter and dogging hook are rotated about a common axis by an operator, which can either be a hex shaft or a cylinder adapter operated by a keyed lock, from a disengaged position to an engaged position where the dogging hook engages a control rod of the exit device thereby holding, or dogging, the exit device in an unlatched condition. An over center spring is used to bias the dogging hook into either the engaged or the disengaged position.

    摘要: A housing mounted to the frame of a panic exit device confines a translatable limb, and a pivotable arm. The limb has a lobe which obstructs the arm to prevent its pivoting and, as a consequence, the arm blocks the latchbolt linkage of the device to prevent unlatching. A rod joined to a time-delayed-operative solenoid is coupled to the limb for displacing the limb from arm-pivoting obstruction, to allow the arm to unblock the latchbolt linkage, whereby the latchbolt can unlatch following the time delayed deenergization of the solenoid. Under normal conditions, the solenoid is energized to prohibit immediate unlatching.

    摘要: In a first embodiment, the invention has a casing set in the frame of a door in confronting relationship to the latchbolt-confining housing of the door. A bolt, translatable in the casing, is extended, by a solenoid, and enters the housing to prevent opening of the door. A latchbolt position sensor, in the form of a dual-ended limb, monitors the position of the latchbolt. Upon withdrawal of the latchbolt, from latching closure of the door, the limb actuates a switch to operate a time delay circuit component. When the specified time delay set by the component has run its course, it cuts power to the solenoid. Compression springs withdraw the bolt from the latchbolt-confining housing, to permit the door to open.

    摘要: The assembly has an auxiliary bolt which is pivotably mounted in a housing. The bolt is captively journalled by a removable bracket which has a pair of recesses on opposite sides thereof. A shaft integral with the bolt sets in one pair of the recesses, to effect one handed operation of the assembly, and with optional setting of the shaft in the other pair of recesses, the assembly is oppositely handed. The assembly is simply bolted to a faceplate; consequently, by removing such bolts, and removing the bracket, the bolt can be replaced or reversed in its handed disposition. An override spring is provided to protect the assembly from damage, in the event that the associated flushbolt fails to enter the strike or recess provided therefor; the spring allows the auxiliary bolt to fully retract, even through the flushbolt translation is inadequate.

    摘要: A time-delayed mechanism obstructs movement of a latchbolt from its latched position to an unlatched position. Linkage coupled to the latchbolt, and manually acutated (by a push pad, or the like), includes an arm which normally pivots, with the manual actuation of the linkage. An initial, limited movement of the linkage activates a switch, and the latter activates a time delay circuit component. The latter component, following a specified time delay, interrupts power to a solenoid. The solenoid, normally powered, has a bar inductively movable therein with a rod joined thereto for coincident movement. An end of the rod carries a roller which intrudes into the pivotal arc of the arm, preventing full pivotable movement thereof. Consequently, the linkage, which is to move the latchbolt to its unlatched position is blocked until the time delay has run its course, whereupon the solenoid is de-energized. With deenergization of the solenoid, the bar, rod and roller are retracted, to permit full pivotal movement of the arm, and movement of the latchbolt to its unlatched position.
