In an exemplary embodiment, the device includes a body that has at least one groove and at least one slot that are configured for removably engaging a crank arm of a fishing reel. The fishing reel crank arm includes a first end attached to a crank knob arm assembly for attaching the crank arm to the reel. The crank arm also has a second end that includes a crank handle shaft projecting from said second end. The body includes, at the first side, a groove defined therein for receiving the crank arm and a slot defined along an edge of the body for removably engaging the crank handle shaft.

摘要： A fishing rod adapter for interconnecting a hand-held power tool and a fishing reel comprises a fishing rod connector adapted to received the shaft of a traditional hand-held fishing rod, a cylindrically hollow housing having anterior and posterior axial openings, and a drive mechanism disposed partially within the housing. The fishing rod connector is adapted to detachably seat within the anterior opening of the housing, such that the housing provides a handle or base for the fishing rod shaft, suitable for gripping with one hand. Within the housing, adjacent the anterior opening is the internal drive mechanism comprising a axially aligned shaft receiver and a number of transfer gears. The posterior opening of the housing is configured to detachably secure a hand-held power tool within the housing, opposite the fishing rod shaft, such that a drive shaft of the power tool is operatively coupled to the shaft receiver of the internal drive mechanism. The transfer gear combination within the drive mechanism transfers the axially aligned rotary motion generated by the drive shaft of the power tool to a radial drive gear disposed external to the housing. Additional fittings on the exterior surface of the housing are adapted to receive and secure a traditional hand-cranked fishing reel in a spaced relationship to the external drive gear. Removal and replacement of the crank handle on the fishing reel with a reel shaft and gear combination permits an operative engagement between the fishing reel and the power tool through the transfer gears and radial drive gear, such that actuation of the power tool results in a rapid rewinding of any fishing line previously dispensed from the fishing reel.

摘要： A powered fishing reel is described which permits manual operation and powered operation providing the fishing line has no load on it. A hollow shaft with a concentric opening in it drives, by means of gear means, the reel upon which the fishing line is wound. A manual shuttle with a crank handle on it can be inserted into one end of the hollow shaft to rotate the reel. A power shuttle similarly can be inserted into the opposite end of the hollow shaft. A bevel gear on the power shuttle. A transfer shuttle is located between the power shuttle and the manual shuttle and serves to push the manual shuttle with the crank handle out of the hollow shaft. A battery is located in the handle of the fishing rod to power an electric motor mounted in a motor assembly so that the electric motor which through gears and a shaft rotates the bevel gear. The same finger hook slides the power shuttle into the hollow shaft and closes a switch which energizes the electric motor. The engagement between the motor and the gears is sufficiently weak that should a load be placed on the fishing line, the motor assembly pivots away from the gears and the finger hook is released back to the inactive position pulling the power shuttle from the hollow shaft.

摘要： A self-contained powered fishing reel having an auxiliary manual operating mechanism. The reel, motor, drive mechanism, power source, and power connections may be contained as a complete unit in a housing which may be selectively mounted on any fishing pole of standard design. The reel includes a flyer and a spool and is associated with a tension sensing assembly which connects or disconnects the power source depending upon the line tension. The flyer normally rotates until tension is built up because of a fish on the line. When a predetermined line tension occurs, the flyer is moved axially in one direction to de-activate a switch and disconnect the power source. The fish line becomes slack while the flyer moves axially in another direction by spring force to activate the switch and connect the power source. Thus, the flyer rotates and winds the line on the spool thereby taking up the slack and again building up tension on the fish line.
